Why Early Access?

“Backrooms Union already delivers a tense, replay-worthy scavenging loop, but the Backrooms are endless by nature and so are our ideas. Early Access lets us tune enemy behaviors, balance scrap quotas, and stress-test online co-op while fresh eyes are on the game. Your feedback is vital for shaping difficulty curves, quality-of-life tweaks, and the eerie “corporate horror” tone we’re chasing.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“Our goal is to leave Early Access once the core experience feels feature-complete and polished. Realistically, that’s likely 6–12 months, but we’ll remain in Early Access for as long as it takes to reach a standard we—and the community—are proud of.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“The roadmap focuses on expansion (more places to get lost) and depth (more ways to survive—or fail):

Additional Backrooms levels with unique biomes, traversal hazards, and entity ecosystems.

New entities that react to light, noise, scent, and player tactics in sharper ways.

Expanded equipment line-up and suit mods, letting crews specialize in roles (e.g., tracker, hauler, decoy).

Layered progression systems—rank badges, union contracts, and long-term unlocks—to boost replayability.

More environmental storytelling, optional objectives, and collectible lore for those who dig deeper.

Ongoing polish: accessibility options, controller rebinding, localization, networking optimizations, and visual/audio refinements.”

“Fully playable solo or 1-4-player online co-op (peer-to-peer with host migration).

6 procedural generated levels (Level 0, Habitable, Poolrooms, Pipe Dream, Level Fun, Cave System) with dynamic scrap spawns and exit timers.

7+ entities featuring sight-, sound-, and smell-based AI.”

About This Game

  • You’re a contract runner for Backrooms Union. Pick a level—Level 0’s endless yellow walls, the damp Boiler Tunnels, the humming Poolrooms, and more—then head inside to collect scrap for the Union’s bottom line. Haul enough before shift’s end or management “restructures” you.

  • Every level crawls with Backrooms entities that stalk noise, light, or the scent of fear. Go in solo for the full panic, or bring a squad and cover each other with call-outs and walkie talkies. Staying together is your best insurance policy—sometimes your only one.

  • Turn today’s hazard pay into tomorrow’s edge: tougher suits, brighter lamps, faster feet—whatever helps you dive deeper and drag more junk out alive. Better gear means bigger quotas, but the Union never stops raising the bar.

  • Choose a level.
    Find the scrap.
    Hit the quota.

  • Miss it, and the Backrooms keep the difference.
