QUICK GAMES

Enjoy the depth of a 4X game in a fraction of the time!  A game of Space Empires typically lasts one to two hours.  Space Empires is played over a series of rounds, with each consisting of three turns of movement, combat, and exploration, plus one turn of researching techs and building ships.

RICH TECHNOLOGY TREE

Constantly balance technology decisions.  Do you focus on bigger and better ships, researching towards Battleships and Dreadnaughts?  Or, focus on mobility, increasing your ships' Propulsion?  Or, perhaps you pivot towards Raiders which have powerful cloaking devices, slipping through enemy formations undetected.  Space Empires has 14 unique technologies with multiple ranks in each - victory calls for the proper selection of technologies to specialize in.

EXPLORE THE GALAXY & EXPAND YOUR EMPIRE

Uncover a galaxy filled with habitable worlds, alien planets, asteroids, nebulae, warp points, and other terrain features.  Balance the risks and rewards of exploring deep space while carving a path toward your rivals' home worlds.

Colonize newly-found habitable worlds.  Not all worlds are the same - when colonizing, barren planets need special Terraforming technology, while alien planets require military action to clear alien ships.

EXPLOIT RESOURCES & EXTERMINATE ENEMIES

Build and expand a network of trade and mining ships to increase credit income and economic production. 

Manage your military fleet, building and researching 17 different ships as well as unique upgrades.  Deploy your fleets on the battlefield to vie for control of deep space in order to ultimately destroy your enemy's home world.  The combat system of Space Empires is a rewarding mixture of scouting, positioning, attacking, and bluffing - all combat ships are concealed from the enemy until first contact!

ONE PATH TO VICTORY - DESTRUCTION

The only goal of the game is to eliminate all rival home worlds!  Victory calls for a blended strategy, including resource management, ship construction, technological research, and tactical-level decisions on a map where no two games are the same.

MULTIPLE WAYS TO PLAY

Play in over 10 different scenario setups of 2-4 players, with optional rules and various ways to play.  Full multiplayer support, including live and asynchronous, turn-timer games.

Our use of AI is narrow and limited. We used an LLM to help convert the rules engine (written in Python for multiplayer) into GDScript to support local-only single player. We also worked with Epidemic Sound, whose voice actors use AI to create voice content with their own voices.
