“Oceanopolis 2000 is a fully playable city-builder already, a features a save system, simulated economy, resource management, and immigration. All the things you need to build your own under water city.
The current build, 0.05, is roughly 85% mechanically complete, only missing Law and Order and Disaster Preparedness.

About This Game

Welcome to Oceanopolis 2000, an under-sea city-builder inspired by bright futures, smooth curves, and the idea that the year 2000 is a distant horizon full of promise.

Build a thriving aquatic metropolis where glowing towers drift like bubbles, dolphins swim past you apartment, and technology feels friendly and optimistic. Oceanopolis 2000 keeps things simple and welcoming city-building that’s easy to pick up and relaxing to play.

Balance your resources and keep your citizens happy to raise your population. Fund your efforts by extracting rent or investing in industry. Keep your city clean and your citizens healthy, or dump pollution into the sea around you. it is your choice.

Oceanopolis 2000 is currently in Early Access, and features are still being added.

Build 0.05 (the latest build) re-balanced how mood effects your citizens immigration rate, as well as expanding the environmental systems so the player can better handle pollution. 

Current State:

Oceanopolis 2000 is already a fully functional city-builder, and is mostly feature complete.

  • A suite of buildings are at your disposal to control resources, pollution, mood, and population.

  • The player can extract rent from citizens and make money through special economic buildings.

  • There is a functioning save and load system.

  • As of build 0.04, sickness can overtake your population, or be guarded against by constructing hospitals.

Planned Future Features:

  • Every update will feature new buildings to flesh out the categories and give the player more choices on the make up of their city.

  • Crime, punishment, and safety measures will be added to your city. No one wants to live in a dangerous city, and it will be your job to keep the streets, or tubes, safe.

  • Disasters will eventually be added in the spirit of the old Sim City. Sinking ships, asteroids, and maybe even earth quakes will threaten your citizens.
