About This Game

A CUT ABOVE: MOW & GROW

A Cut Above: Mow & Grow is a lawn-care business simulator built around actually mowing the grass yourself.

Take on contracts, choose the right mower for the job, work around ponds and obstacles, manage fuel and equipment, and use the money you earn to grow your business.

The mowing is the main part of the game. Everything around it is there to give you another reason to get back on the mower.

MOW THE LAWN

The grass is more than decoration. Your mower cuts where the deck actually passes, leaving a visible finished path behind you.

Work in clean passes, mow around fences and ponds, or use the closer precision view when you need better control around an edge.

There are three different machines to use:

  • Riding mower for larger properties and wider passes

  • Powered walk-behind mower for tighter areas and sharper turns

  • Manual push mower for small jobs where fuel is not worth using

Each mower has its own handling, deck width and upgrades, so choosing a machine changes how you approach a property.

TAKE ON DIFFERENT PROPERTIES

Contracts generate their own property from a seed, including the terrain, lawn layout, trees, boundaries, ponds and obstacles.

Properties can range from tidy residential lawns to more open rural and park-like areas, giving different jobs their own layout and feel.

Some contracts also include areas you are meant to leave untouched, forcing you to plan your passes instead of simply cutting everything in sight.

BUILD YOUR BUSINESS

Jobs appear on the Job Board with their own size, payout and requirements.

Complete work to earn money, improve your reputation and open access to more service areas.

Money you earn can go toward:

  • new mowers

  • mower upgrades

  • attachments

  • fuel

  • additional equipment

  • expanding into new service areas

There are no loans or financing systems. If you want something for the business, you earn the money for it by working.

CHOOSE HOW YOU MOW

Your equipment can be configured for different kinds of work.

Attachments and mowing options can change what happens to the grass you cut, including collecting clippings that can later be sold or composted.

Upgrades are tied to individual mower types, improving things such as speed, fuel use and handling without making every machine feel the same.

As the business grows, autonomous mowing equipment can also help with parts of a property while you continue mowing yourself.

WEATHER CHANGES THE JOB

Time and weather continue across the game rather than resetting every time you start a contract.

Clear skies, cloud, mist, fog and rain change the look and conditions of the properties you work on.

Wet ground and grass can also affect mowing conditions, making the forecast something worth checking before choosing how to tackle the day's work.

SEE THE RESULTS

Finishing a contract gives you a breakdown of the work you completed and what the job paid.

The game also tracks how you worked, including the quality and consistency of your mowing, rather than treating every completed lawn as identical.

Properties can change across repeat visits, and before-and-after captures give you a visual record of the work your business has done.
