What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“We want players to experience the world of Tawa: Lost in Time early and help shape its development. Their feedback will help us fine-tune the gameplay, improve the overall experience, and prioritize future content.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“We expect the game to remain in Early Access for several months, but this may change depending on player feedback and development progress.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“We plan to expand the game with additional biomes, enemy types including flying and aquatic threats, and more environmental storytelling elements. We're also working on polishing animations, adding cinematic elements, improving performance, and implementing accessibility options. However, all of these depend on how development evolves.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The Early Access version includes the first biome (forest), with stealth mechanics, light combat, and exploration. It features no HUD or dialogue, and relies entirely on environmental storytelling. The game is fully playable and stable, but we continue to refine it.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“No”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“We'll actively gather player feedback through:

Steam forums and community posts.

Regular devlogs highlighting changes and improvements.

Occasional polls to help prioritize features or adjustments.
We also plan to open a private Discord for early players to report bugs and share suggestions directly with the dev team.”

About This Game

Two heroines. A world ruled by dinosaurs.

Time has fractured. Across a forgotten archipelago, untamed lands, ancient ruins, and creatures from another age now coexist beneath the rule of dinosaurs.

Tawa: Lost in Time is a stylized adventure blending exploration, platforming, action, stealth, and discovery. Follow Naya, a young anthropomorphic fox determined to choose her own path, and Tawa, a small quadrupedal mouse separated from her family by a cataclysm. Their meeting begins a journey in which each heroine has a different scale, different abilities, and a very different way of facing danger.

Naya and Tawa’s adventure

In the main adventure, you primarily control Naya while Tawa travels beside her across the islands. Run, jump, explore ruins, confront certain creatures, and find a way through territories occupied by dinosaurs.

Tawa’s tiny size becomes essential whenever Naya can go no farther. In selected areas, take control of Tawa to slip into a cave, cross a narrow passage, retrieve an object, or open a route that her companion cannot reach.

Naya recounts how they met as the journey continues, but she does not reveal all of her intentions at once. A missing artifact, growing conflict between the islands, and her true objective form the heart of a story that unfolds gradually.

Extra: an adventure at Tawa’s scale

An Extra mode offers an experience focused more closely on Tawa. The world changes completely when seen through the eyes of a tiny mouse: grass becomes a wall, a root becomes a shelter, and every dinosaur appears enormous.

Tawa cannot rely on Naya’s strength. Watch how creatures move, use the terrain, hide, and choose the right moment to advance. This additional adventure places greater emphasis on survival, stealth, and the feeling of being tiny in a vast prehistoric world.

Explore a prehistoric archipelago

Cross bright beaches, a tropical island filled with ruins, a scorching desert, snowy mountains, misty swamps, a lush Japanese-inspired forest, and other territories leading toward Tawa’s island. Every biome has its own atmosphere, hidden paths, dangers, and species.

Dinosaurs are part of the world

Dinosaurs are more than scenery. Herbivores roam their territories and may flee when threatened. Carnivores observe, pursue prey, and react to the creatures around them. Naya can fight some threats, but against the largest dinosaurs, understanding their behavior and avoiding danger is often the better choice.

Features

  • Two complementary heroines – Naya, an agile anthropomorphic fox, and Tawa, a small quadrupedal mouse.
  • A varied adventure – Exploration, platforming, combat, stealth, and environmental traversal.
  • Play as Tawa at key moments – Use her tiny size to reach places Naya cannot enter.
  • An Extra mode starring Tawa – Experience a more vulnerable, survival-focused perspective.
  • Contrasting biomes – Tropical islands, ruins, desert, snow, swamps, and lush forests.
  • Dinosaurs with varied behavior – Herbivores, carnivores, swift hunters, and territorial giants.
  • A stylized animal world – Memorable anthropomorphic characters in a colorful prehistoric setting.

Two scales. Two ways to survive. One adventure lost in time.
