Why Early Access?

“Book of Myko was developed as a graduate thesis project in less than one full year. Myko would benefit greatly from the eyes and ears of the public in an effort to identify any lingering visual or audio bugs that our micro-team might have missed in the rapid development of this game.

We hope to add an in progress cat-based puzzle feature that simply didn't make it before needing to go live as part of our original publishing agreement. Additionally, our NPCs are adorable and charming, but would benefit from another pass of animation to liven them up. That's in-progress too! Dialog branches were pruned a bit, but more dad-jokes, riddles, and life lessons are on their way for players to uncover as part of their conversations with the cute little people currently in the game.

This project continues to be supported by the UNO Maverick Meadow student group with new art, music, and code. We hope to make it the best (first) commercial game from UNOmaha!”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“We plan on exiting Early Access in roughly 3 to 5 months.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“A post-graduation polish on animation features and some graphic elements are in the works. We plan to add additional puzzle elements to the experience, and hammer out any lingering visual fidelity crumbs that new eyes might find. We would like to add newly created music tracks to build on the cozy vibes. We hope to see more dad jokes for more NPCs for potential dialog integration.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The core puzzle, all mechanics, areas, and NPCs in Book of Myko are playable to the end. Players can experience all dialog tracks, find every single mushroom, and travel freely. Outside of limited creative polish, the game experience is complete. Please refer to our "About This Game" section for details.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“The game will not change prices at all after Early Access. Existing purchases will receive all updates at no cost.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“We are seeking all feedback on bugs and hope to make the QA discord live for the general public to pop in. With your help we can make Book of Myko 101% done for everyone to experience the best possible low-stakes mushroom hunting vibes.”
