About This Demo

In this demo of Kamata, you'll experience a short introduction to the sun drenched island of Zimzemba and the core gameplay mechanics. Step into the shoes of Nia, a spirited young girl on a mission to clean up her home, help her community, and uncover a growing mystery.

In the first five levels of Kamata, you’ll recycle bottles, clean up trash, and use cardboard to suppress invasive weeds. You’ll rescue stranded turtles, round up mischievous ducks on the farm, and explore new areas of the island. As you meet memorable locals and unlock your first upgrades, you’ll start to see Zimzemba come back to life  and the community begins to take notice.

The demo gently introduces players to Kamata’s relaxed, story-rich experience, blending cosy exploration with light environmental puzzles and fun interactions. Kamata offers an impactful experience for players looking to make a difference in our environment and climate while enjoying a sunny adventure on the Swahili coast.

Story and Setting

Join Nia, who sets out to clean up the trash that’s washed up on the island of Zimzemba. Initially motivated by the promise of pocket money to buy Baba a birthday present, Nia soon realises that her efforts can make a real impact on the environment. As the island becomes healthier, more birds and wildlife return, and Nia's sense of purpose deepens. Guided by the strong values of her community, she uncovers a larger mystery about the pollution threatening her home.
