"Scottside" is a non-linear visual novel in the thriller genre. A small provincial town may seem quite dull. However, everything changes when you find a strange object in the forest.

About This Demo

The alternate 1980s. Robots on the streets no longer surprise anyone.

You’ve just moved to Scottside—a quiet, snow-covered town where nothing ever seems to happen. A new school. New friends. A new, boring life.

At least, that’s what you thought—until you found something in the woods that was never supposed to be there.

Scottside is hiding dark secrets. And now, you’re right at the heart of them.

Five episodes. One winter that will change everything.

This is a demo version of the game. Dive into the snowy town's atmosphere, meet the main characters, and explore the core mechanics. Make your first meaningful choices and feel their impact on the story.

The demo already has QTE scenes and mini-games that will make you not just read, but act fast.

The characters of Scottside aren’t simply the product of a writer’s imagination. Behind each of them is a real person.

Their personalities, choices, and fates were born around a table during a tabletop role-playing game, where my friends and I shaped the plot through improvisation and rolls of the dice.

That’s why the characters don’t always behave the way you expect them to. Each has their own personality, past, and secrets. Some will become your true friends. Others—your enemies.

  • Immersive Gameplay

If the protagonist is running from a pursuer, you’ll have to get through a QTE sequence. Hacking a computer? Do it yourself. Need to sneak past a guard unnoticed? Good luck.

At some point, I’ll simply get tired of listing every situation where you’ll have to prove yourself.

  • Just Like a TV Series

Every episode has its own mystery and its own culmination. But each answer reveals another piece of the larger secret running through the entire game.

Just like in a TV series, every new adventure brings the characters closer to the ultimate answer.

  • An Era That Never Existed

What happens when you mix the 1980s with cyberpunk and add a retrowave soundtrack? Oh, trust me—you’re going to like it.

  • Characters

Like characters who feel real? The cast of Scottside is literally based on my friends. Some may become your true friends. You might even fall in love with one of them.

I’m serious. One guy fell in love with Jessica and keeps emailing me about her.

  • Unexpected Plot Twists

There are no right or wrong decisions in Scottside—only your actions and their consequences.

  • Secrets

The game’s creator is obsessed with secrets and mysteries. Apparently, they’re hidden not only inside the game, but beyond it as well.
