About This Game

In Royal Crusade, you command your own castle in an open world filled with other players. Worlds last 14 days, and are a completely fresh start for every player.

When you join a world, you'll be the king of your newly given castle, and you will be able to:

  • Choose which building to upgrade

  • Recruit strong commanders with unique abilities, and level them up

  • Pick your targets wisely, to increase your power and speed up your upgrades

  • Raid other players' castles

  • Form an alliance to participate in alliance warfare

  • Gather trophies with your alliance to rise in the rankings

Your own castle

Your castle starts off as an empty shell. Not long after, you'll construct your first buildings. Once you've built your barracks and tavern, you will be able to recruit warriors and commanders, which will allow you to battle barbarians and other players.

Everything inside your castle is safe, including upgrades you make and resources.

Open world combat

Some of the map will already be discovered, but you'll need to send scouts to explore the rest.

You can send out armies into the open world, to battle barbarians and fight other players. In the open world, you're able to directly control your units' movement and targeting. Abilities are used automatically.

Castle raids

If a nearby player castle is situated better than yours, you can raid their castle. If you win, your castles' positions will be swapped.

You will have to configure your armies beforehand, because these battles are fully automatic. To fend off attackers, you can also configure your defenses. Castles offer special protection to units, fully restoring both the attackers and defenders after a raid (this only applies to castle raids).

Alliance battles

The world contains a fair number of outposts that are initially controlled by barbarians. Most of the time, these outposts are shielded, but once a day their shield is dropped, and they are contestable for at least an hour.

To take over an outpost, players in an alliance will have to join forces and launch a rally against it. Like castle raids, these battles are automatic.

Other features:

  • A replay system to rewatch castle raids and alliance battles

  • A tavern that provides commander tokens, building speedups, and other useful items

  • Cosmetic customization options (purchaseable)

  • A chat system and a community Discord with live Q&As

  • Introductory quests with rewards

  • Catch-up mechanics for players that join late

  • A talent tree to customize your commanders
