What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“We’re building PolyCrime as a deep, systemic crime sim, and Early Access lets us shape it together with the players.

The game already has the core loop in place – growing and selling drugs, dealing with gangs and police, and using the darkweb – but there are many systems we want to expand based on real feedback instead of guessing in a vacuum.

Early Access also helps us:
- Test and balance economy, risk and progression
- Improve AI behavior (gangs, civilians, police)
- Stress-test online features
- Prioritise features the community actually wants”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“We expect to stay in Early Access for roughly 6–12 months.

The exact duration will depend on:
- Community feedback and feature requests
- Stability and performance targets
- How big we decide to make certain systems (darkweb, gangs, business ownership)

If we need more time to ensure quality, we will take it we prefer a better game over a rushed release.

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“The full version is planned to significantly expand on the current foundation. Our goals include:

- New city districts and explorable interiors
- Additional NPC types and deeper interactions (gangs, clients, dealers, police)
- A more complex reputation system with long-term consequences
- Expanded economy and empire-building options (properties, businesses, staff)
- Advanced darkweb tools and minigames, including more ways to attack and defend

We also plan ongoing work on:
- AI behavior and traffic in the city
- Performance and optimization
- UI/UX polish and accessibility

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“PolyCrime is fully playable in its core loop and already offers:

- A functional city to explore
- Drug growing and basic production
- Selling to NPCs and using the in-game PC / darkweb
- Interactions with gangs and police
- Single-player and online pvp via Steam
- A basic reputation and risk system

The game is stable for regular play, but you can expect:
- Bugs and rough edges
- Balancing passes on income, risk and difficulty
- Systems that will be expanded and refined over time

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“Yes. We plan to increase the price when the game leaves Early Access.

Players who join now will get:
- A lower price
- Access to all future updates
- The chance to directly influence the direction of development

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“We want PolyCrime to grow together with its community. We plan to involve players through:

- Active discussions on the Steam forums and our Discord server
- Regular updates with detailed patch notes
- Polls and voting on development priorities
- Testing experimental features and collecting feedback
- Transparent dev posts and roadmaps

We read everything and will adjust our priorities based on what players enjoy the most.

About This Game

🕹️ About the Game

PolyCrime is an open-city crime simulation where you start small and slowly build your own mafia empire. Grow and sell drugs, make deals on the streets, cut protection deals with gangs, dodge police patrols and protect your money from darkweb attacks.

You’re just a small fish at the beginning  sleeping in a cheap room, growing your first plants and testing the streets. As you earn more, your name spreads. Gangs start to notice you, NPCs remember how you treated them, and one mistake can cost you your stash, your money or your freedom.

WHAT’S IN THE GAME RIGHT NOW (EARLY ACCESS)

  • Explore a low-poly city with different districts and a day/night cycle.

  • Grow and harvest weed, then package it and sell it to NPCs on the street.

  • Negotiate prices and risk that some NPCs might rat you out to the police.

  • Trade with other players through an online marketplace – buy and sell drugs, items and resources player-to-player.

  • Break into apartments and houses to steal cash and valuable loot if you’re willing to take the risk. ( December update )

  • Deal with gangs: pay protection to sell safely on their turf or ignore them and face the consequences.

  • Avoid police patrols, hide your illegal stuff and risk getting arrested if you push it too far.

  • Use the in-game computer and darkweb to launch attacks against other players’ bank accounts and defend your own money.

  • Play multiplayer blackjack in the casino and gamble your dirty (or clean) money against other players.

  • Build up your reputation and income over time, unlock better gear and expand your operation step by step.

ROADMAP – WHERE WE’RE TAKING POLYCRIME

During Early Access we plan to:

  • Expand the city with new locations, interiors and activities.

  • Deepen gang and police AI, including patrols, territory and reactions to your actions.

  • Add more progression systems (stash upgrades, businesses, new ways to launder money).

  • Improve darkweb tools and add more ways to attack and defend player wealth.

  • Add more legal/illegal side activities that support your criminal empire.

  • Introduce luxury penthouses in the casino that you can purchase.

  • Add a multi-stage casino vault heist.

  • Implement a weapon crafting system so you can build, upgrade and customize your own firepower.

  • Expand drug distribution through airport smuggling routes and new high-risk, high-reward delivery options.

Our goal is a deep, systemic crime sim where every deal, every favour and every betrayal matters – and where the community helps steer which systems we expand first.

💡 Summary

PolyCrime offers a deep, replayable simulation of city crime, survival, and strategy. With dynamic systems, emergent gameplay, and multiple progression paths — legal or illegal — your story is yours to write.

Will you become a feared kingpin, a respected entrepreneur, or just another name lost to the streets?

We want to steer the game in the direction our community chooses. On our Discord, you can already submit ideas you’re missing in games or haven’t seen anywhere else.

What the community votes for will be added to the game. Join in, vote, and shape the future of PolyCrime.
