About This Game

Waking up in a tavern of a small town you find yourself in a new world of magic and wonder. Learn from the locals of Immerbury or head out right away to explore Remote Realms? There are many paths to take and a lot of experience to be gained whichever way you decide to go. It's a rough world out there though. It may be a good idea to gear up and a train some  basic survival skills before embarking on a longer journey. But if you are lucky you can get a boat ride from another player to a nearby town or stumble across a shortcut!

Whether it's picking directions, means of transportation, leveling strategy, gear composition or catching creatures, there are always a number of approaches to the matter at hand in Remote Realms. You can buy (buying here means using in-game currency) or train mounts that enable faster travel either on land or in air. You can buy or build ships that let you go further on water than just swimming. (According to rumors there is a certain kind of turtle you can also train for this purpose) Each of the game's 26 skills can be leveled up either at a more relaxed pace or alternatively with a higher efficiency using the game's burst bar mechanic.

The game utilizes a simple to get started with, complex to master combat system that involves mechanics like: ground elevation, damage delivery type and elemental types. Every match up one faces has a lot of room to theory craft about the best in slot gear!

To get most out of your journey it's best to make new friends. Not just with other players but with the creatures inhabiting Remote Realms. You can train and befriend powerful companions that help you with your tasks from serene skilling to vicious combat!

Features:

  • A fully player driven economy. This is achieved with the following design choice: Skilling is the primary and often the sole way of acquiring goods and more refined items in the game. Only very little one can buy from NPC shops and the bosses drop unique items instead of skilling resources. There are also gold removing mechanisms in the game to fight inflation. A notable example is the option to repair your gear pieces to improve the stats they provide you.

  • Interconnected skills and items that stay relevant throughout as players make progress in the game. The game is designed in a way that minimizes 'dead content' by making different skills depend on each other and enabling many niche use cases for items. There is also a strong incentive for players to trade with each other. Higher level players in certain skills are able to make items that sometimes are even more useful to lower level player meanwhile as lower level players are always in demand to provide more resources for the higher level players in exchange. Trading isn't required at any point of the game even though being very useful.
