What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“We are launching The Legend of Khiimori in Early Access to build a collaborative relationship with our players as we shape the game’s expansive world and deep mechanics. Early Access gives us the opportunity to gather valuable feedback, iterate quickly, and refine core systems based on our player’s feedback. Our goal is to create an immersive open world action adventure with horses at its core and we believe that this exciting ride is best taken together.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“We expect The Legend of Khiimori to be in Early Access for approximately 12 months. We cannot provide you with an exact date yet, because our motto is “quality over speed,” and we simply do not yet know when the game will meet our quality standards to ensure a final release. Early Access allows us to expand the world, polish gameplay systems, and integrate community-driven improvements. We’ll keep players updated regularly and adjust the timeline with more specific dates as we progress.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“We plan that the full version will feature a compelling main story, an expanded open world, more side quests, new areas to explore, as well as refined horse- and survival- mechanics. We also plan to add voice acting, a full localization, improved performance, and deeper environmental storytelling. Player feedback will guide improvements to controls, and overall game balance.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The Early Access version includes the core gameplay loop: exploration, survival on horseback, breeding, training, and questing across a decent portion of the open world. Players can already do a large variety of courier deliveries, interact with NPCs, and uncover secrets in a richly detailed environment. While some systems are still in development, the game is stable and offers several hours of engaging content. We’ll be updating regularly with new features, bug fixes, and quality-of-life improvements!”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“Yes, we plan to increase the price after Early Access. Early supporters will benefit from a lower entry price and exclusive access to development updates, and “behind the scenes” content as a reward for joining us early and helping us shape the game’s future.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“We’ll be actively engaging with our community through Discord, Steam, and Trello. Players will be invited to participate in feedback surveys, vote on features, and join Q&A sessions with the dev team to make sure their voice will help shape The Legend of Khiimori.”

About This Game

The Legend of Khiimori is a system-driven game where you explore the untamed land of 13th century Mongolia as a brave courier rider.Breed and train horses with specialized abilities to explore every aspect of this diverse and fascinating landscape.

Explore an untamed 13th century Mongolia as a brave courier rider

13th century Mongolia is the home of history’s best horse riders. The land is beautiful and vast, full of wonders and intriguing tales to uncover. Be prepared for harsh climates, steep cliffs, and amazing landscapes. Keep yourself safe from danger by strategically planning your delivery routes across the wide steppes, over snowy peaks or through the scorching desert.

Train, breed and bond with horses

Training horses is essential in charting the expansive Mongolian landscape. Breed horses with specialized traits to overcome the many challenges along your path. Pair the best stock to breed increased capabilities across generations. Train your horse, care for their needs and unleash their full potential to become a true Yam courier rider. Enjoy unparalleled realism in lifelike equine behavior and animation, refined and approved by experts.

Deliver valuable cargo, gather, craft and survive

Surviving is key! Forage and hunt for supplies and materials to mix food and tonics for your horse. Plan your routes wisely to avoid damaging vulnerable cargo or endangering your trusted steed. Prepare your horse and your equipment to weather harsh environments and conditions. Only then can you survive the untamed Mongolian wilderness.

Use your bow and arrows wisely

Start crafting powder pouches and special arrows to survive the dangers of the Mongolian wildlife. Archery is deeply entrenched in Mongolian culture, and it will be yours to master. However, in this game your bow and arrows are tools rather than weapons. Different arrows and powder pouches are used for gathering resources, defending yourself from dangerous wildlife and mindful hunting.

Improve your skills and master the challenges of the open world

Take on various activities and thrive as a Yam courier rider. You will be tasked with delivering packages and cargo, gathering vital items, and mastering the challenges of the open world. Quests will test your capabilities, requiring the right steed, excellent riding mastery, and thoughtful planning, as well as skillful resource management, useful crafting, and keen archery to survive and succeed.
