About This Game

Kinfolk is a "Cozy-Chaos Multiplayer Peasant Sim".  It blends creativity, cooperation, and emergent storytelling in a unique round-based structure with a cozy atmosphere where you take on a role in a shared community, tackling objectives from peaceful daily tasks to chaotic events, while the town around you hopefully doesn't fall apart!

In Kinfolk, you live a day in the life of a villager in a cozy medieval town and work towards completing your daily tasks before the sun sets.  As each unique round progresses, the village will almost certainly become more and more chaotic, as the everyday dangers of life in the early middle ages, such as fire, the plague, and even a simple cut, present challenges both big and small.  You and your Kin will have to work together to survive the thousand ways you can die!

• Explore historically inspired medieval settings, from a small cottage to a bustling city all presented in a cozy pixel-art style

• Fully Interactive world.  If you can see it, you can do something with it.

• Each job in the game offers unique objectives and challenges, so each round feels fresh, challenging and fun!

• Open-ended gameplay gives you objectives, but doesn't penalize you for not completing them

• Each round is fresh and unique, presenting new challenges that are based on players actions

• Extremely detailed gameplay systems, such as realistic heat transfer and temperatures, mass and physics, and sense-based AI

• Characters don't have traditional Health values.  Instead, their status and ultimate fate is determined by various effects, such as cuts, fractures, infection and more!

• Gameplay based on skill and practice rather than min/max values.  It's easy to learn but difficult to master

  

Kinfolk is a game with a simple GUI that presents its deep and interconnected systems through audio and visual feedback using a simple control scheme.  You can enjoy it using a Keyboard and Mouse, or a Gamepad of your choice!
