About This Demo

Auridia is a short metroidvania where you explore an interconnected world filled with intricate platforming challenges. Unlock new biomes by chaining together abilities you learn, such as climb, grapple, throw, and parry. Examine dozens of artifacts, commune with forgotten gods, and piece together what happened to Auridia.

The demo version comes with two game modes: Standard and Brief.

Standard mode: Try out the first 60-90 minutes of Auridia

Start at the beginning, and make your way through the first four areas of Auridia. The ruins are not always straightforward, and you will find obstacles you are not prepared for. Mark them on your map, and return when you've learned more. Over the course of these areas, you'll uncover three abilities, some stamina upgrades, and you can start to uncover the game's mysteries.

Any areas that are simply inaccessible in the demo are marked as such.

Brief mode: Use most of the game's abilities in one short level

Many of Auridia's challenges require you to string together all the abilities you have learned, while minding your stamina. If you want to get a sense of what the mid- or late-game is like immediately, try brief mode.

Here, you'll play a 10-20 minute level, that combines environments form five biomes. You'll get four abilities in the first half (one that is not available in standard mode), and use them to explore the level to find and light ten shrines.

Unlike standard mode, there are no artifacts or lore. This mode is pure platforming and exploration.

Standard Mode Features

  • Three of six unlockable movement abilities: Grapple, Climb, and Kinesis

  • Twenty-four artifacts and twenty shrines to find

  • Four areas to explore

  • Five research topics to complete, as you start to uncover the game's lore

  • Intricate platforming challenges that require combining many abilities to overcome

  • A map showing exactly what your character has seen

  • 60-90 minutes of gameplay

Brief Mode Features

  • Four of six unlockable movement abilities: Grapple, Climb, Kinesis, and Warp Shot

  • Ten shrines to find in one large area

  • Intricate platforming challenges that require combining many abilities to overcome

  • A map showing exactly what your character has seen
