Two NATO divisions from the Low Countries take center stage, specifically organized to secure key rear-area districts with an arsenal of special units and equipment: Belgium’s Division Mobilisation and the Dutch CLKA (Commando Legerkorpsachtergebied).

Division Mobilisation

The Belgian Army’s Division Mobilisation was an umbrella designation for the interior formations called upon to reinforce the I (BE) Corps fighting in West Germany, as well as providing security within Belgium. The nucleus of this defensive-minded battlegroup is formed by Forces de l'Intérieur, backed by light infantry, Gendarmerie, older equipment drawn from storage, strong air defense units, and even shadowy stay-behind special forces.

An arsenal of new units can be found within Division Mobilisation’s ranks, including the light M41 tank, M47 main battle tank, M75 APC and command vehicle, FN 4RM 62F Gendarmerie armor, CHASSEURS ARDENNAIS light infantry, BOFORS M/54 57mm heavy AA guns, and false-flag SDRA8 stay-behind saboteurs. Artillery ranges from venerable World War 2-era Long Tom 155mm and M1 8-inch 203mm howitzers to M108A2 105mm and M55 203mm self-propelled pieces. Other vehicles include the BDX wheeled APC, HSS.630-3 triple 20mm gun, SEA KING supply helicopters, and more.

CLKA

The Royal Netherlands Army’s CLKA or Commando Legerkorpsachtergebied had as its wartime mission the protection of the immediate rear area of the I (NL) Corps in West Germany. With the 101 Infanteriebrigade at its core, the division's prime task was to secure supply lines against saboteurs and enemy raids while protecting the corp’s heavy artillery and AA units.

The Dutch CLKA’s arsenal features new units such as the DAF YHZ-2300 VRACHT heavy supply truck, LEOPARD 1V main battle tank, modernized M114/39 155m artillery, BEVEILIGING security troops, military police’s M113 C&V KMAR APC, as well as the new YP-408 wheeled armor series: YP-408 PWCO command vehicle, YP-408 PWRDR radar recon, YP-408 PWAT I-TOW launchers and YP-408 PWI APC.

Main Features
