Pera Coda is an episodic narrative-driven detective adventure set in a noir reflection of Istanbul. You play as Deniz, a fallen criminal defense lawyer drawn into a seemingly simple murder investigation that quickly grows beyond a single crime. Explore neighborhoods across the city, examine gruesome crime scenes, question suspects, follow leads, and piece together evidence as the case begins to reveal uncomfortable truths.

Observe your surroundings. Collect evidence. Question witnesses and suspects. Not every discovery immediately reveals its significance. A photo, a smell, a melody, an object, or a seemingly meaningless conversation may become important much later.

Choose from a number of personality traits to determine who Deniz is. Your traits will change how you interact with the world and its inhabitants. Be streetwise or charming or well-educated. What matters is your play style.

A CITY OF SMALL THINGS

Not everything in Pera Coda is connected to the murder investigation. Life in a city this chaotic and huge is all about noticing small things.

Feed stray animals. Listen to music. Taste food. Notice smells. Talk to people who have nothing useful to tell you.

Collect experiences, memories and small pieces of Istanbul, simply because they are there.

Some will remain insignificant. Some will not.

YOUR STATE OF MIND MATTERS

What Deniz experiences affects how he approaches the world.

Moments of empathy, apathy, agitation, and serenity can influence actions and dialogue, opening some doors, while closing others.

There are certain things you can only say when you are angry enough.

There are certain things you can only do when you are calm.

The investigation will change who Deniz is.

PRIVATE INVESTIGATIONS

"Pera Coda is a noir detective mystery exploring the psychological depth of Deniz's journey. The game depicts scenes of realistic violence, including bodily injury, corpses, and killing. These are largely shown through stylized aftermath and reconstructed memory sequences rather than explicit acts, though the game does include rare instances (at most once per episode, and only if the player chooses to) of Deniz shooting someone at close range. Alcohol use is shown on-screen, depicted infrequently as part of Deniz's characterization as a functioning alcoholic, without a dedicated gameplay mechanic. Tobacco use is also shown on-screen, including cigarettes, cigars, and shisha. Pera Coda contains crude language and occasional swearing, and does not contain sexual content, nudity, illegal drug use, or gambling."
