Why Early Access?

“We’re using Early Access to involve players in shaping the game’s balance, difficulty, and feature set. While the core is playable, key systems and content are still evolving based on feedback, not just polish or bug fixes.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“Three to six months. It will need some time to take feedback and iron out all of the issues, but I want to move on to future projects relatively quickly.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“We plan to add a few more levels and extra abilities beyond the initial release. We're also looking into some usability improvements. Balance updates are likely to happen regularly throughout Early Access.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“About half of the optional levels are implemented. The main boss fight is entirely present, but is lacking balance (particularly in phases 2-4). The ending cutscene exists in a placeholder state. About half of the extra abilities exist, but need polish and balance. The game is fully playable beginning to end.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“The price will remain the same after early access.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“Soliciting feedback and ideas for gameplay levels and mechanics, particularly extra abilities.”

About This Game

You Alone Can Defeat Evil  is a dark roguelike distilled into one impossible boss fight. Step into the role of a rogue sorcerer, an outcast of the Order of Eskilon, and face the Great Demon, a relentless foe designed to test your mastery, patience, and skill.
