What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“Early Access provides a unique opportunity to refine the development process and incorporate vital player feedback on the road to version 1.0. Because Curse of Dominion is being created by a solo developer, community input is essential. The game will be developed alongside the community, using direct player feedback to shape quality-of-life updates, refine mechanics, and make the final release as strong as possible.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“Curse of Dominion is expected to remain in Early Access for at least one year. However, this timeline is flexible and subject to change. Because the game is being developed alongside the community, the exact duration will ultimately depend on player feedback, the scope of necessary quality-of-life updates, and the overall balancing of its tactical mechanics. The primary goal is to ensure the game reaches its full potential before transitioning to an official 1.0 release, rather than strictly adhering to a rigid deadline.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“The Early Access version will launch featuring the first half of the game's content. The plan is to release the complete second half of the game alongside the official 1.0 launch. During the Early Access period, development will primarily focus on making incremental adjustments, balancing mechanics, and implementing quality-of-life changes based on player feedback. The full version is planned to offer the complete, concluded experience, fully refined by the community testing phase.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The Early Access version of Curse of Dominion showcases the core content, foundations, and mechanics needed for a fulfilling tactical RPG experience. This includes a complete story campaign covering the first half of the game, over 50 unique tactical battles to master, deep progression through the first 3 tiers of character classes, and a diverse roster of 10 recruitable captains to lead your forces.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“There are no immediate plans to alter the pricing during the Early Access phase. However, the pricing structure may be re-evaluated upon the official 1.0 launch to reflect the addition of new features, ongoing balancing improvements, and the introduction of the final half of the campaign.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“Player feedback is essential to refining the tactical depth of Curse of Dominion. The development process will heavily rely on the community's input, with a close eye kept on the official Steam Discussions and social channels. By monitoring these platforms, community suggestions will be used to guide gameplay adjustments, balance encounters, and prioritize new quality-of-life features throughout the Early Access period.”

About This Game

Curse of Dominion is a tactical RPG about conquest with an economy-driven campaign layer.

You lead a roster of captains across a continental map, fighting grid-based battles where positioning, formation, and coordinated play decide the outcome. Each victory expands your territory, and each captured region strengthens your campaign through ongoing income, turning conquest into a long-term strategy rather than a series of isolated fights.

Progression is built for planning. Captains develop through a class system unlocked by levels and weapon mastery, while loyalty grows between allies who fight side-by-side, rewarding squads you build and keep together. Between battles, you return to Erindos to train, upgrade, and refine your roster as you prepare for the next push.

The campaign is about sustaining advantage. Manage your resources, invest in what you control, and keep your captains ready, so every captured territory makes the next battle more winnable, and every battle makes the dominion harder to break.
