Why Early Access?

“We've decided to use the Early Access model for multiple reasons. From the inception of My Pet Hooligan, we have been community first and we believe that community feedback is key to deliver a game and experience that our users want and truly enjoy.

My Pet Hooligan is AMGI Studios first title and is being developed on the latest version of Unreal Engine 5, there’s a lot of new tech and systems being explored in innovative ways, and we’ll need to ensure that we’ve worked through all the kinks.

Finally, My Pet Hooligan has an ambitious roadmap to include new game play elements, game mechanics and game modes, operating in Early Access gives us the opportunity to to develop closely with the community. Once we’ve delivered our plans, we can officially leave Early Access.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“As long as needed. We believe it will be at least 6 months. We are targeting December 2025 for full game release.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“Early Access is missing several core features we are in active development on: we are still building faction turf wars to encourage competition between players, finalizing combat zones, adding a world events system for procedural activities in the overworld, skateboard trick system, hideout customizations, item crafting, weapon challenges, and more.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“We have built the foundational elements that are the building blocks for the complete game. PvE and PvP combat, Melee and Ranged Weapons, Skateboarding, Destructibles, city exploration, and competitive modes like our Anarchy Free-For-All mode. Dedicated servers. 7 enemy types.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“No definitive plans here yet, but it is likely that the price will be increased over the course of the Early Access period.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“We keep our community at the heart of our development process, with our Discord server as the main hub for discussions, feedback, and ideas. Players can drop their feature requests and suggestions in the "Suggestions" channel, where our team actively listens and engages.

We believe in open communication, so we regularly discuss upcoming changes with the community to get early feedback. We also have a dedicated test group that gets hands-on with new builds before they go public, working closely with our dev team to refine features and ensure smooth gameplay.

Once features are tested in this group, they roll out to a public test branch for even more player input before finally making their way into the live game. This process keeps evolving based on what works best for our players, because at the end of the day, we're building this experience together!”
