Why Early Access?

“Mcat is a desktop reading app with a relatively wide range of features. We chose early access because we want to invite real readers to participate while the core features are already usable and the product is valuable for daily use. Reading experience is highly personal—people’s preferences for typography, interaction, and workflows vary greatly. We hope to hear feedback from real users as the product continues to grow, so that future improvements can better align with actual needs.”

Approximately how long will this software be in Early Access?

“We plan to keep the early access phase around 6 to 12 months, depending on the actual development progress and the pace of community feedback.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“The early access version already includes the core capabilities of a reading app. In future development, we plan to continue refining the following areas:

- More file format support

- Workshop

- Performance and compatibility optimization

- Note-taking and knowledge management

- More customization options

- Plugin extension features

- Community-driven features

We don’t want to promise a specific feature list in advance. Instead, with the community by our side, we hope to let Mcat grow little by little into its best possible form.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The current version is already capable of meeting daily reading needs. We are labeling it as early access, meaning that the core framework of the product is stable, but the fine-tuning of details, coverage of edge cases, and some more ambitious features we want to develop will take time to refine. Will this software be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“We plan to raise the price appropriately after ending early access. The price during early access is to thank early users for their trust and support. As more features are added and platform coverage expands, the price of the full version will be adjusted accordingly.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“We highly value the voice of the community and plan to stay in touch with users through the following channels:

- Steam Community Hub: As our main forum for discussion and feedback, we will regularly review user suggestions and bug reports.
- Patch Notes & Development Updates: We will share development progress, design ideas, and future plans via Steam announcements.
- Feedback‑Driven Development: We will prioritize the most frequently requested issues from the community, allowing users to directly influence the product's direction.”
