Why Early Access?

“After nearly three years or 1000 days of development with incredibly limited resources and people we’re ready to bring the community into the fold. By sharing ASTRAL with you now, we aim to gather your feedback and insights to steer our ongoing development in the right direction.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“ASTRAL intends to remain in Early Access until we’re confident it meets our quality standards and delivers a complete experience. Depending on progress, we intend to aim for full release around Q4 2026 / Q1 2027. This remains contingent on community feedback and our velocity in refining gameplay, adding content, and polishing the title.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“ASTRAL Early Access launches with core features: robotic combat in off-world environments. Current single-player scope encompasses foundational mechanics, gunplay, free-for-all mode, and initial maps. Planned roadmap (subject to iteration and community input):

We intend to expand the experience through enhanced environments, new maps with diverse biomes, additional weapons and equipment, enhanced character options, new game-modes, and mechanics to elevate replayability.

We intend to refine controls, visual fidelity, and gameplay flow using player telemetry.

We intend to evolve the title toward a more expansive, immersive, and enriched state, contingent on development velocity and feedback viability.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“ASTRAL Early Access delivers our sci-fi FPS foundation: 5 maps (small/medium/large scale), 20+ weapons with modular attachments (optics, magazines, stocks, grips, muzzles, etc.), and equipment (claymores, frags, stickies). Includes a dedicated firing range for loadout testing/target practice, Free For All game-mode, Basic Enemy AI bots, and level-based progression unlocking the arsenal.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“Most likely, yes. Purchasing ASTRAL during Early Access will offer a lower price point as a thank-you to early supporters. As development progresses and we expand the game’s content and features, we expect the price to reflect that growth. ”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“You, the community, are ASTRAL's core. Your gameplay drives us. We need your feedback to optimize mechanics, flow, content, and map design. Directly shaping development. Goal: a polished FPS experience. Submit via dedicated channels (Discord, website, etc.).”

Welcome to ASTRAL (Early Access), a futuristic first person shooter with a unique vision of the future. Embody a robot and engage your adversaries in unique environments, both on earth and off-world locations. 

 

ASTRAL is a game that embodies a deep love for everything that is futuristic and vehemently unapologetic about it.

It started around 2022 when Edon (myself) opened Unreal Engine and decided to bring his visions and designs to life. What better way than to create an interactive experience where you can feel what it's like to be a robot fighting on a secret off-world base somewhere in the cosmos. With the critical help of a few individuals (less than a handful) we were able to bring something together that feels exciting and fresh. This is a sci-fi FPS made by people who love gunplay, are excited about the future, love technology, awesome weapons, robots and engaging action.

Set in the future, GRD [GURA Research & Development] is an intergalactic corporation, drives expeditionary operations, scientific advancement, and resource development across the cosmos through advanced technological innovation. Autonomous robotic units deploy to off-world forward operating bases in diverse environments, established well in advance of human arrival to ensure operational security and sustainability. These strategically positioned bases are proof of GRD’s commanding presence and resolve to unlock the mysteries of the universe.

We used ElevenLabs to write "Announcer" voice lines that are heard in the game. One example would be hearing: "You are victorious" after winning a match. Another example would be hearing: "Lost the lead" after losing first position.
