What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“I’m launching Funorbit in Early Access so I can develop the game together with the community. The core planet and rocket launch gameplay is already playable, and some of the space gameplay is also implemented, although that part is still being developed and expanded. I want player feedback to help me refine progression, balance, difficulty, usability, and overall game feel while I continue adding content and improving the experience. Early Access gives me the opportunity to iterate based on how people actually play the game before reaching the full release.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“I currently expect Funorbit to remain in Early Access for approximately 6 to 12 months. As a solo developer, the exact timeline may depend on development progress and community feedback. My goal is to leave Early Access once the main gameplay systems and planned content feel complete and polished enough for a full release. ”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“The full version is planned to include a more complete and expanded version of the current gameplay, particularly the space gameplay, along with further improvements to astronaut customizations, space stations, more planets and moons, and overall polish based on feedback during Early Access. Reaching the full release will represent a more complete and polished version of Funorbit, but development will not necessarily stop there. I plan to continue improving and expanding the game after the full release as well.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The Early Access version is fully playable and includes the core planet and rocket launch gameplay, along with an early version of the space gameplay. Players can already explore some of the systems that will be expanded during development, while areas such as astronaut customization, space stations, additional planets and moons, and overall polish are still being developed and improved. The current version represents the foundation of Funorbit, with the main gameplay loop in place and more content and features planned throughout Early Access.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“Yes. I plan to offer Funorbit at a lower price during Early Access to reflect its current state and to reward players who support the game during development. The price is expected to increase when the game reaches its full release as more content and features are added.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“I plan to involve the community by actively listening to player feedback throughout Early Access, especially around progression, balance, usability, bugs, and the overall gameplay experience. I’ll use feedback from Steam discussions, reviews, and other community channels to help prioritize improvements and decide which areas of the game need the most attention. I also want player suggestions to help shape how existing systems are expanded, while keeping the overall direction of Funorbit consistent with my vision for the game.”

About This Game

Funorbit is a physics-based pixel art space survival simulation where you navigate a vast, procedurally generated universe using realistic orbital mechanics. Master acceleration, deceleration, and gravitational forces to explore planets, moons, and drifting meteoroids, each with unique motion and spin. Collide with meteoroids to break them into pieces, evade cosmic dangers, and use your HUD to track real-time speed, distances, and directions as you travel through deep space.

Gather resources from asteroids, moons, and wreckage to craft essential equipment, repair your ship, and build structures that aid in survival. Construct space stations, upgrade your shuttle, and manage your supplies as you adapt to the ever changing challenges of space. With immersive physics, dynamic encounters, and a deep crafting system, Funorbit is a test of skill, strategy, and survival in the infinite cosmos.
