Why Early Access?

“Kiki’s Nightmare is designed around short, replayable runs where player choice, route optimization, and small interactions all matter. Because of that, balance and feel are incredibly important — and those are best shaped with real player feedback.

Early Access allows me to:

Fine-tune gameplay systems like sprinting, pacing, and difficulty based on real player behavior
Expand and improve zones, encounters, and events in ways that feel meaningful and fun
Iterate on progression, scoring, and replayability to make each run satisfying.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“The title has been in the works for a good amount of time. And although creating game systems, characters, quests etc goes a lot faster, it is still time consuming.
If all goes well, Kiki's Nightmare will still take at least half a year to develop.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“Its easy to get lost on the scope of the game. Goal is to make fun, short runs on which the player can increase effecient gameplay / gain higher score.
In short one can expect more skilltree's, more polish, more quests, more content and another level to actually save Kiki from her Nightmare”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The early access version of Kiki’s Nightmare already offers a substantial portion of the game world to explore, featuring multiple questlines, distinct areas, and a variety of enemies that will challenge players throughout their journey to save Kiki.

Players can experiment with several skill trees to shape and optimize their playstyle, allowing for different approaches to combat and progression.

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“I'm not planning on changing the price when we leave early access. ”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“Community feedback will play a central role in shaping Kiki’s Nightmare throughout Early Access.

Players will be able to:

Share feedback on gameplay feel, difficulty, and balance
Suggest new ideas for zones, events, and interactions
Help identify bugs and edge cases during real play sessions

Development updates will be shared regularly, with clear insight into what is being worked on and what changes are coming next. Feedback from the community will directly influence priorities, features, and improvements.
