What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“We are doing early access because this is a game best defined and developed with help from players actually playing the game, which means the sooner we get people trying and playing the game the better this game will actually be, this is a process that will continue throughout the games development.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“The game will be in early access betwee 3-6 months, depending on what kind of feedback we get from the community.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“For the full version of Armada we imagine for the game to feature more cards and more planets, exactly what these cards and planets look like depends on the feedback and trends that help shape the game during early access.

The goal is also to have the game feature complete with working AI opponents, a robust multiplayer experience with matchmaking both ranked and unranked, and we would like to polish the games visuals and audio further.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The game currently features 1v1 card combat against an opponent online or on the same device with a hoteseat feature.

The game features 64 cards distributed across 12 planets, and the game lets you setup games with random planets and cards, or defined which ones you want to play with.

The core gameplay functionality works and you can play matches against friends or strangers by inviting them to your lobby or by inviting friends currently playing the game.

The game lacks and detailed visuals like card art, vfx and menu design, but everything is functional and playable.

The game also features no audio, no music no sfx right now.

The game does not feature any matchmaking features, ranked play or leaderboards.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“The game will be free-to-play during the early access, and on release players will have to buy the game.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“The community will provide essential feedback on their gameplay experiences, we hope to do polls, events and Q&A sessions to meet the community and the people playing head on!

We aim to develop a strong community through our dedicated discord server, this is where we would like for people to connect, share and provide feedback about the game as it evolves.

We will also try to be active on YouTube and our social media platforms to keep the community updated.”

About This Game

Black Horizon: Armada is a digital deck-building strategy game set in an original sci-fi universe. There is no pre-game deck building—strategy emerges entirely during battle. Every decision matters, forcing you to adapt, improvise, and outthink your opponent in real time.

Each match takes place across three randomly selected planets, each acting as a strategic lane. Planets have unique effects and offer exclusive cards that can only be acquired while fighting there, forcing players to rethink positioning, timing, and resource management every game.

Cards are discovered through play. As you encounter new ships, stations, and actions, they are permanently unlocked in your Gallery, growing your collection and revealing new synergies and strategies over time.

Your deck is constructed dynamically during each match, shaped by the planets in play and the cards you choose to pursue. Every decision matters, and no two decks—or matches—are ever the same.

Random planet selection, planet-specific rules, exclusive card pools, and dynamic deck building combine to create trillions of possible matchups. Planet synergies can dramatically change how the game plays, delivering endless strategic depth and replayability.
