“We plan to be fully released in less than a year from early access launch.”

“We plan to add a wide array of different features to City of Cats, some of which are in but will be reworked for the absolute best experience. Planned updates and features can be found on our public roadmap”

“Currently, the player is able to choose between a small amount of cats. They can wander the city as a cat, find food and water, and connect with other cat friends. There is basic communication by way of gestures, such as nuzzling, meowing, and hissing, as well as a simple chat window. The player can become a pet, and there is an instinct system to drive the player forward.”

City of Cats is a fun, cozy sandbox game where you live the ultimate feline life. Explore streets, alleyways, houses, and parks as a mischievous cat, meowing, swatting, and causing chaos wherever and however you decide to do so. Hang out with your friends, chase mice, knock over objects, or lounge in the sun. No rules, just a world of purrfect possibilities. How will you spend your nine lives?

During your time in City of Cats you'll come up against harsh weather that will make you want to seek cover. Snow storms are rare but can happen, changing the rules of survival as you play. However, if you get into a nice warm house then you'll be safe from the perilous conditions.

As you live your life you'll get the call of the wild to become the cat you yearn to be. At times you may just get an urge to go sit under a bush or bring a leaf home. On the other hand you might just want to be a plastic eating goblin. As you follow more and more instincts you'll get perks of being a seasoned feline.

Living the life of a stray, a nomad cat, a ronin, or whatever you want to call them, poses some challenges on a daily basis but hey you're a upcoming legend of the streets strutting what you have to offer. Being a pet can be much easier at times but does come with some drawbacks of it's own.. Catch a mouse and present your newly acquired gift to find out more.

Cats are social animals; having cliques of their own. Having a friend to depend on is nice especially when you're too hungry to move or need a buddy to purr next to you and get you back to full health. Bringing food to your friend is always a nice surprise for them.

If you can make friends then you can definitely make enemies. Did they take your mouse that you worked hard to catch during the storm or did they just look at your wrong? regardless of the answer you should go give them a piece of your mind! Using all the shouts, hisses, and swats that you can muster you should tell them exactly what you think of them.

Everyone that has ever been adopted by a cat can tell you that, even though they're incredible little friends, they can be tiny terrors if they think it's an appropriate time for it. City of Cats is no different, if you want to run up and make a mess on the rug well.. you can.. or you could sit and just take in the scenery. Until you need to sharpen your claws on the sofa of course...
