SourceWorld is a Half-Life 2 Modification with heavy focus on new game mechanics which takes an overall different perspective on its usual gameplay.

You take the role of a Multiverse Explorer, a person tasked with running raids on distant universes - procedurally-generated levels of various themes, sizes and hazards. As you encounter more things on your way, you'll gain experience and consequently become stronger by learning more skills and abilities, while also getting money to spend on improving your combat loadout.

In-between journeys beyond the universal frontier you have access to "Hub" environments with interactive characters, shops and more. During your absence, different events may occur in the "home" world, leaving you to deal with all the sometimes unforeseen consequences.

Features

• Randomized Environments - Level layouts are created right after player steps into the portal.

• Expanded Arsenal - New weaponry features both entirely new and familiar things to hurt your enemy with.

• Improved, Overhauled Combat - Melee and firearm weapon mechanics got tweaked to provide better sense of control over player's attacks, without slowing down the movement too much.

• Inventory - Weapons, ammo and consumables, such as healing items, are now parts of the new grid-based inventory mechanic.

• Characters - The protagonist isn't mute. SourceWorld takes Role-Playing Game approach to friendly NPCs, as their role is extended beyond just being a narrative device or cannon-fodder, some might be willing to trade with the player or even be a companion.

• Skill Tree - Some upgrades are general improvements to player's characteristics, while others give a new ability.

With events taking place many years after The Combine was pushed off Earth, you play as Jack Lunin, one of the descendants of Resistance's veterans, living in the District 64 of Lunacy City, being in a huge debt and with little opportunities.

You are greeted by your best buddy who tells you about this organization that runs parallel universes traveling. With no other choices, you go ahead to take the job, since the payment sounds tempting, however, at the possible cost of your own life and even more so, at the possible cost of the people around you.
