About This Game

Broadcast Empire is a dense television management strategy game about building, scheduling, funding, and growing your own TV station.

Start with limited reach, a modest schedule, and a handful of shows. Then fight your way through ratings battles, sponsor demands, talent politics, infrastructure upgrades, live rights auctions, film deals, regulator pressure, and the daily problem every broadcaster understands: what exactly should go on at 8pm?

Build Your Channel

Commission New Shows

Develop and produce dramas, comedies, reality formats, news, sport, documentaries, horror, family shows, and more. Manage budgets, talent, production time, episodes, reviews, hype, and long-term audience momentum.

Recruit Talent and Crew

Hire presenters, actors, producers, and directors. Build relationships with them over time, but keep them happy. Underused talent may demand better opportunities, burn out, attract press trouble, or leave for a rival broadcaster.

Craft the Schedule

Plan each broadcast day hour by hour. Match shows to the right audience, time slot, genre trend, and competitive environment. Use repeats carefully, schedule live programming in fixed slots, and make room for two-hour films when the night calls for it.

Shape Your Station Identity

Choose whether your channel is mass-market, prestige, youth-focused, sport-led, or repeat-friendly. Your output gradually shapes how viewers, sponsors, talent, and rivals see the station.

Grow Your Audience

Families, sports fans, youth viewers, prestige drama fans, and news loyalists all respond differently. Feed the right audiences often enough and they become loyal. Ignore them and they drift away.

Compete for Live Rights

Bid for sports, awards, debates, concerts, civic events, and one-off specials. Some are expensive national moments, others are niche opportunities that can anchor a schedule. Miss the agreed slot and you will pay for it.

Sign Sponsors and Chase Bonuses

Accept weekly sponsor briefs, sell live event sponsorship, and turn strong ratings into commercial income. Fail to hit targets and the makegood costs land straight in your accounts.

Invest in Infrastructure

Upgrade studios, newsroom, outside broadcast capability, ad sales, broadcast hours, cable, satellite, terrestrial reach, and VOD apps. Better infrastructure unlocks new opportunities and improves the performance of your station.

Expand Beyond Broadcast

Build a film library, secure studio deals, launch VOD, sell shows through syndication, and create new revenue streams beyond the overnight ratings.

Face the Consequences

Every decision feeds the wider business. Ratings affect income, reputation, sponsor progress, audience reach, talent morale, board goals, regulator scrutiny, VOD performance, and the news cycle around your station.

A cheap-and-cheerful repeats channel can survive. A prestige broadcaster can thrive. A sports-heavy station can explode in popularity. But every strategy has trade-offs.

Do you build a broad family network, chase premium drama, dominate live sport, survive on clever acquisitions, or gamble everything on the next breakout hit?

The remote is in your hand. Build the schedule. Win the audience. Grow the empire.
