Why Early Access?

“I am a solo developer working on a game that I am passionate about. There is much more to the game world of Deep Space Facility that I have written and planned but not yet implemented in the game. when I introduce new parts to the story Early Access will let me receive reviews so that I can adjust the systems and gameplay using player feedback.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“I plan for the game to be in a demo/tutorial state until around Q3 2025. Afterwards the game will gain a paid Early Access version in addition to the demo/tutorial. I plan to implement the full journey to freedom of our outcast in about a year after the paid Early Access version is available.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“The full version of the game is planned to have many gameplay systems that will not be present at the start of Early Access as well as additions to the story and world to explore. I also plan to re-do a good chunk of the art to make Deep Space Facility much more pleasing and polished. More languages and other quality of life features are being considered and I await player feedback.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“Currently there is only a tutorial/demo to showcase and teach the gameplay as well as give players a sample of what kind of a world Deep Space Facility is set in. The tutorial consists of one battle currently that walks you through the gameplay with explanations. There is also a separate interactive map where players can read about the things that their character in the most recent save file would know about.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“The price is planned to increase during and after Early Access as new content and features are added.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“I plan to ask the community for feedback on the gameplay so that I can find out what is fun and balanced to improve the experience for players in my game.”

About This Game

Assume the life of an outcast from a mysterious future set on a failed space station. When a once great space faring society collapsed everything deteriorated. After thousands of years the mission is now entirely forgotten, and the surviving descendants of the original crew are reverted ever closer to ignorance.

Your journey begins as a captive to a mask-wearing tribe who will force you to fight as a gladiator. You are not special or overpowered in this world. Only through managing your resources, health, skills, and tactics in the battles to come will you survive. Can you make it long enough to regain your freedom, rebuild your life and maybe piece together some of the forgotten history? 

Dynamic combat model:

-4 regions of the body to target

-each regions health has a unique interaction with a characters stats in combat

-manage character exhaustion and breath to avoid deteriorating stats

An original game world set in a realistic future. Experience a story where physics rules over fantasy. Instead of magic or opaque "advanced technology" the game will use very real and thought out phenomena to create the other-worldly environments within the station.

Community developed and driven. I have developed this game in my spare time. it is a product of my passion without any corporate influences and I will keep it that way. My goal is to get feedback to make my game fun and build a strong community to enjoy the game world I am creating.

-maneuvering during combat

-several weapons each with their own effect on the combat system

-decisions, inventory management, location interaction, and random events

-armor and clothing systems

-more unarmed and armed fighting styles

-more locations and events in the wild lands 

-battles with multiple combatants on each side

-team building and relations mechanics

-implementation of the dark and mysterious City of Gleam, its arena, and surroundings for the player to interact with

-politics and a reputation system

-expeditions to the more dangerous and unknown locations below Gleam

-multiple endings and paths to freedom

-improved art and smoother ragdoll animations

-misc. quality of life improvements including hotkeys and balance

-difficulty levels and settings

AI was used to help create a portion of the art for the game that is difficult and time consuming starting from nothing. This art is of some of the characters and objects in the game that had their rough form generated using google Gemini. All of the AI images generated were modified to match my game's world, and were made to be distinct and original from any other creative works. for example, one of the characters has an image of a beetle shell placed over his face among other artistic design changes to the original AI generated body.
