This is the demo version of RailGods of Hysterra, a survival-base-building action game set in a Lovecraftian post-apocalyptic world. Offering a few hours of gameplay, the demo features building and upgrading your RailGod, scavenging resources, battling monstrous foes, and unlocking your first Dark Gifts.

Explore a procedurally generated area inspired by The Shadow Over Innsmouth and take your first steps in managing your roaming fortress on rails. It’s a small yet immersive glimpse into the full experience!

In RailGods of Hysterra, the world has been devastated by the arrival of the Great Old Ones –cosmic beings of unimaginable power. As a Dreamer, awoken from the Dreamlands and inseparably bound to your RailGod, you must survive in a reality twisted by madness. Shuttle between the last outposts while exploring gloomy, mysterious landscapes haunted by sinister cultists and nightmarish creatures inspired by Lovecraft's narrative universe.

Born from forbidden rituals and unholy magic, your RailGod is no mere machine but a sentient locomotive, pulsing with eldritch life. It craves the flesh of your enemies, demanding their sacrifice as fuel for its relentless journey. This colossal fortress on wheels is not just your stronghold – it's your most terrifying weapon against the unspeakable horrors of Hysterra. Upgrade its Carriages with sinister innovations, and as your bond deepens, you'll unlock the power to battle the titans and witness the downfall of the Great Old Ones.

Play solo or team up with up to four friends in online co-op, working together to scavenge for supplies, craft tools and weapons, and build your ultimate fortress on rails. Expand and share your knowledge of dark arts and forgotten magic rituals, unlocking powerful GodKeeper skills as you plan your journey along the Endless Railways, face new threats together, and combine your strengths to evolve your RailGod into a force capable of challenging the Great Old Ones themselves.

Embark on a solo adventure or join forces with up to four players in a cooperative "on the rails" journey. Keep track of your health, hunger, and sanity as you collaborate to gather resources, uncover ancient knowledge, and face off against otherworldly monsters in a world dominated by the Great Old Ones.

Take control of a RailGod, a living, sentient abomination forged through forgotten, arcane rituals: a relentless, horrific fusion of beast and machine. Yet the train is your haven, where you must cleanse your fragile mind from the all-consuming Madness and nurture the symbiotic bond with this terrifying entity. As you perform dark deeds, you will be rewarded with power, evolving alongside your RailGod into an unstoppable force, ready to defy the alien Gods themselves.

Customize and upgrade your RailGod with specialized Carriages, building your mobile fortress piece by piece. Each Carriage offers strategic advantages, and player creativity will shape the train into a powerful stronghold against the horrors of Hysterra.

As a GodKeeper, increase your symbiosis with your RailGod to harness your management, exploration, and trapping skills. Confine and sacrifice Deathless enemies to receive Dark Gifts, gaining the upper hand against the eldritch creatures threatening your path to godhood. Discover the stories of other survivors, follow their paths, and gain unique perks!

Each stop you choose to explore is unique, as time and space are warped by the Great Old Ones. Journeying on the Eternal Railways brings new areas, hidden dungeons, and diverse challenges. Plan your trips ahead, or you might end up wandering madly through the lands of Hysterra.

Combine melee and ranged combat with powerful spells and unique Dark Gifts granted by your RailGod. Team up to take down terrifying monsters and cultists in epic battles.

Personalize both your character and your train. Craft, build, and design your train's Carriages and equipment to suit your playstyle. Unlock upgrades and enhancements to gain the edge in your fight against titanic foes.
