Why Early Access?

“Aegis Force: The Scorian War has been in development for two years, has a demo, and has undergone improvements through player testing and feedback. As a result, we believe the core gameplay systems, story foundation, and overall experience are already in a strong and playable state. However, as a large-scale, story-driven tactical RPG, there is still significant content, refinement, and additional features to develop before the game reaches its final vision.

Early Access allows us to continue expanding the world of Ianua while maintaining an active development process alongside our community. Players will have the opportunity to experience the available content early, provide valuable feedback, and help us refine the game as we work toward delivering the complete adventure we envision.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“We plan to release new content to play every 4-8 weeks until the game is complete and fully polished. We anticipate the full (v1.0) version to release no more than a year after early access begins.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“The full version of Aegis Force: The Scorian War will incorporate player feedback gathered throughout the Early Access period, along with the complete story experience and all planned content. This includes additional story beats, locations, cutscenes, dialogue, and polish that bring the full vision of the game to life.
Players will be able to build their force with over 15 unique party members, each featuring their own designs, personal histories, and class abilities. The full game will include the explorable world map of Ianua, which includes unique regions to discover, secrets to uncover, items to collect, and tactical battles to overcome. We will also be adding more languages to play in.

The final version of Aegis Force: The Scorian War is expected to provide approximately 20–30 hours of gameplay.

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The initial Early Access version contains the core game systems in place and total playtime of around 6-10 hours. The Early Access version begins from the prologue segment and progresses through the story -- just as the final game will. Players can continue playing through the story as new content releases, systems are updated, etc.

We will do our best to make sure that your save is compatible with all new content as it arrives into the Early Access version of the game, as well as the full release.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“The full release of the game will not be priced differently than during the Early Access period so that all players, including our Kickstarter supporters, will get the same price. However, we will be offering a discount at the beginning of the Early Access period given that there is less content to initially play.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“We monitor community feedback through various channels, including but not limited to Discord, the Steam forums, social media, and community events. We review and respond to this feedback, making changes and updates to resolve bugs, improve the player experience, and implement player suggestions where feasible.”

About This Game

Aegis Force: The Scorian War is a turn-based tactical RPG inspired by such classics in the genre as Shining Force, Fire Emblem, and Final Fantasy Tactics. Players will follow the main protagonists, Callon Roth and Orvus Magnaric, as they fight as heroic soldiers in the Genuan army during the long-lasting and embittering Scorian War.

Aegis Force blends full world and town exploration as seen with classic golden era JRPGs, but once a player engages in combat, they will fight in place on a grid in turn-based tactical battle mode. This gives new strategic depth to the classic JRPG formula.

  • Over 15 recruitable characters — Grow your force by locating and recruiting new members during your journey across the continent and through unique and exciting locations.

  • Customize your force — Promote and customize your characters and their abilities, then choose which ones to include in your force based on your preferred tactical strategies.

Join Callon Roth, Orvus Magnaric, and Vedette Kairn, three childhood friends-turned-soldiers in this 2.5D Strategy RPG adventure as they recruit a varied cast of 15+ warriors, thieves, mages, engineers, and more to plan heists, battle monsters, uncover ancient weapons, foil dark plots, and unlock the mysteries of a continent caught in a century-long struggle with the heart of your favorite stories from the 16 and 32-bit eras.
