What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“We want to get player feedback and uncover bugs before the full release. We also want to involve the players in developing the Player onboarding experience of the game since the game is quite unique and only real players will be able to give feedback on how easy it is to explore new mechanics in the game and uncover the depth of this very deep game.
Furthermore Polishing the Game will also benefit from player feedback.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“1-3 Months”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

More enemy types, currently the game has a very interesting system where it generates not just unique enemy shapes but those shapes corresponds to unique enemy behaviors as well. adding more behaviors exponentially increases the number of enemy types that can appear for songs,
the enemy types correspond to the notes of a song, so each song generates 12 unique enemies for itself, I want the system to have way more depth in this.
Plus the boss system needs to be activated as well as a unique new feature where certain positions on the map empower different aspects of the song.

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

Working

  • Core Configuration working
  • Synergies and Synergy Bonuses working (nodes with the same beat synergize at certain distances depending on the beat type) (Bonuses depend on the song)
  • Free flight working (For Orbital nodes - Requires Unlock)
  • Attribute Boosting Working (Requires Unlock)
  • Unique Enemies per song Working
  • Spray Mode, Laser Mode, Projectile Mode, Mine Mode working
  • Song Bonuses Working
  • Custom Mp3 songs working (Put them in the streaming assets > Symphorix Music)
  • Presets Working
  • 100+ Unique Songs with Human Poetry

Not Working

  • Achievements

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“I intend to increase the price of the game slightly to reward early access supporters.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“I intend to share dev logs, have detailed discussions around game features and mechanics on our discord.”

About This Game

We set out to create something truly unique, experimenting with new mechanics and ideas even knowing it was risky. The result is Symphorix, a game shaped by both challenge and creativity. As students from a rural village, we faced many obstacles along the way, yet through persistence and passion we made it happen.

Every beat is a weapon. Every song is a battlefield.

Symphorix takes the Roguelite Survivor genre and fuses it with the pulse of music, creating an experience where your playlist shapes the battlefield. With over 200 included tracks both instrumental and lyrical and the ability to import your own songs, no two runs are ever the same. Every song carries its own bonuses and synergy effects, letting you search for the perfect track with the buffs you want to play with.

At the heart of Symphorix lies The Core, a living engine of energy. Its power flows into sixteen sub-nodes that determine how attacks manifest from sprays and projectiles to mines and devastating lasers. Two types of nodes form your arsenal:

  • Exhaust Nodes: Fixed points that unleash energy in the form of different attack types projectiles, sprays, lasers and mines.

  • Orbital Nodes: turrets that orbit the Core and face nearest enemies automatically, or detach into drones that chase enemies across the arena before returning to formation.

Every beat drives the Core, and every note decides when that energy is released, making combat as much about rhythm as strategy.

The deeper systems of Symphorix let you turn songs into weapons of precision:

  • Synergies: Align beats to nodes to unlock combinations. Bass synergies link distant nodes, mid-tone synergies connect neighbors’ neighbors, Treble synergies form with direct neighbors, and Orbitals can sync when aligned. Each synergy multiplies effects, enhances damage, and ties into the bonuses carried by your chosen song.

  • Stats and Upgrades: Apply speed, damage, range, and more to the Core, Exhaust, or Orbital nodes. Coins  earned mid-match by collecting energy globes  unlock new nodes, notes, and permanent upgrades, expanding your options run after run.

  • Kinetic Energy: Generated by moving the Core, this special resource powers kinetic attacks and fuels slow-motion, giving you a window to dodge or strike with precision when chaos fills the screen.

Symphorix’s enemies are born from energy. Each of the twelve notes spawns its own enemy type, bringing unique attacks, movement, and death effects  from cannibal swarms to healers and retreating units. Enemies attack in escalating waves, each growing more intense until the music itself unleashes a powerful boss, a towering challenge born from the music.

As you fight, energy globes level up your Core, presenting a choice of three random upgrade cards (Common, Rare, Legendary). These cards can enhance stats, unlock new effects  with rerolls available to chase the perfect run. At the end of the match your collected energy is converted into coins, letting you invest in new unlocks for the battles ahead.

In the endless void, every being is born of raw energy, feeding on others to survive. Your Core is cast into this ecosystem, forced to fight, consume, and adapt. Only by mastering the flow of battle can you ascend and reign supreme in the void.

The cycle is simple but endlessly deep:

  • Select a song or build a playlist.

  • Configure your Core with nodes, stats, and synergies.

  • Enter the battlefield, where every beat drives the fight.

  • Adapt with upgrades, defeat enemies, and survive waves of bosses.

  • Earn, unlock, and grow stronger, reaching your peak with every battle with non stop music as your weapon.

System Requirements

    Minimum:
    • Requires a 64-bit processor and operating system
    • OS *: Windows 7/8/10 (64-bit)
    • Processor: Intel Core i3-2100 or AMD equivalent
    • Memory: 4 GB RAM
    • Graphics: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 650 (2 GB) or AMD Radeon HD 7770 (2 GB) (DirectX 11 compatible GPU)
    • DirectX: Version 11
    • Network: Broadband Internet connection
    • Storage: 2 GB available space
    • Sound Card: DirectX-compatible sound card
    • Additional Notes: While it’s primarily a 2D game, it does use VFX Graph-based effects and simple 3D meshes, so a dedicated GPU is highly recommended over integrated graphics. The game is music-based, so a decent sound setup (headphones or speakers) is recommended for the best experience.
    Recommended:
    • Requires a 64-bit processor and operating system
    • OS: Windows 10 (64-bit) or later
    • Processor: Intel Core i5-6600 (or newer) / AMD Ryzen 5 1400 (or newer)
    • Memory: 8 GB RAM
    • Graphics: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060 (3 GB) or AMD Radeon RX 580 (4 GB) (DirectX 11/12 compatible GPU)
    • DirectX: Version 11
    • Network: Broadband Internet connection
    • Storage: 3 GB available space
    • Sound Card: DirectX-compatible sound card
    • Additional Notes: Because the game uses extensive particle effects and real-time VFX, a mid-range GPU will ensure smoother performance. For optimal audio fidelity in a music-centric game, consider higher-quality sound gear and updated drivers.
* Starting January 1st, 2024, the Steam Client will only support Windows 10 and later versions.
