Demo and end of Neo Fest

Thanks for your feedback on the Neo Fest demo.

It will remain online for a few more days.

It seems that the platform section is a little unbalanced and still requires slightly too much investment at the start of the demo, even though its place in the full game will remain very limited.

The narration also deserves to be a little more detailed, to better anchor the start of the game. If you have any further feedback, you'll find the game's e-mail address in the “About” section of the demo.

Thanks to all of you,

Jonathan,

About This Game

Low_Signal is a classic first-person exploration game. Its structure requires you to unlock abilities in order to discover new areas and progress through the story.

Although you'll be much faster and more agile than in a walking-sim, observation is still essential.
The adventure will take place in the setting of an abandoned Asian slum. Inspired by the city of Kowloon, the environments can sometimes be gloomy or stressful, and some themes are rather dark. However, horror is not the central genre.

The game offers a complete narrative experience that lasts around 3 to 5 hours.

Investigate and explore

Reading notes and collecting objects are key parts of the gameplay.

A strange Altar is located in the central hub of the slum. Linked to five antennas, it can receive specific objects and notes that you must find and return in pairs. If these items are both related to the same former inhabitant, a lock is overturned. However, you don't yet know what lies behind this mechanism.

Get new abilities - Visit their dreams

Some former residents have left a tangible mark on the slum.

When you lie on their beds, you can explore little places that seem to be linked to their subconscious. These places are often colourful and symbolic.

Overcome the short puzzle and platform challenges there, and their fantasies will materialise into usable abilities, such as extended mobility or the ability to make some objects appear and disappear to create paths.

These challenges do not require platforming expertise and offer accessible puzzles.

Combine exploration and abilities

The slum comprises several districts, each with its own character. The more abilities you have, the more new areas and secrets you can access.

However, there are caveats: the slum can sometimes feel very cramped, and there are threats in certain places. Although you can't die or shoot in this game, getting caught will have consequences.

The Story and Lore

As you progress, the story is revealed further and further, with environments providing some clues. The game uses text conversations and documents to tell its story, focusing only on the essentials to prioritise quality over quantity.

The central point of your adventure is the origin of the strange Signal that drew you here.
