About This Game

Conversations with My Imaginary Friends is an upcoming free collection of explorable scenes, capturing two decades of conversations between the developer behind the To the Moon series and the fictional characters they've created along the way.

About life, behind-the-scenes stories from game development, and everything in between, all accompanied by lovingly hand-crafted illustrations and pixel art.

On a more personal note, this project actually traces back to a little habit of mine.

Growing up, I was a fairly introverted kid who spent a lot of time in my own head. I didn't have many friends, but I had plenty of imaginary ones, often finding myself "talking" to the characters from the stories I'd write.

Eventually, it led me to making games, composing music, and doing what I do today -- all because I wanted to make that world and the characters in it "real".

This year marks the 15th anniversary of To the Moon. It wasn't my first game, but it was the one that brought my work to more people. And now, somewhat bittersweetly, I'm finishing the final game in the series it began.

I've never been very good at letting go.

So, as I prepare to say goodbye to a series that's been with me for so long, while also embracing the future and bits of a long-lost past, I thought this project might be a fitting way to preserve something from it. Somewhere the characters can stay, and somewhere my thoughts can, too.

And perhaps this can also be a way for me to share some of the behind-the-scenes stories I never quite get around to posting on social media. It feels more natural for me, anyway.

To everyone who's helped make these games, and everyone who's spent time playing them, thank you for being a part of this journey.

I hope to see you here next year.
