On his way back home, lost in the mountains, Barren encounters an adventurer near a mysterious temple. This is Kai, a young man who set out with his friends in search of an ancient treasure belonging to the Laman, a civilization that coexisted with the people of Kaodi for decades before being exiled long ago.

After an incident inside the temple, only Kai has managed to escape. Now, he asks Barren to rescue his companions…

Kaodi is a short story about the scars that war leaves on the world and on hearts. After being instrumental in the victory against the Shan Republic, Barren must return home on a path filled with guilt, trauma, self-doubt, friendships and broken loyalties.

Interact with a wide range of characters. Each will offer a new perspective on the devastation of war: stories of loss, dignity, forgiveness....

All seasoned with a beautiful low-spec artwork, a mix of traditional pixel-art with 3D modeling techniques and effects.
