What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“We’re bringing Masters of Albion into Early Access to build it alongside players.
This is a deep, systemic god game built around player freedom - and once players get their hands on it, they’ll always find ways to play that we didn’t expect.
Early Access allows us to observe how players interact with key systems and iterate where it matters most - including combat, balance, quest design, progression and UI.
Player feedback won’t just be collected - it will directly inform updates throughout Early Access, helping us refine systems, improve clarity and strengthen the overall experience as the game evolves.

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“We currently expect Masters of Albion to remain in Early Access for around 12 months. However, development will continue based on player feedback and the needs of the game, so the timeline may shift as we refine and expand the experience.
We’ll keep you all updated on plans via our Discord and Steam page.

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“The Early Access version includes the complete Chapter One experience from start to finish.
During Early Access, our focus is on refining how the game plays - improving combat feel, balancing systems, expanding interactions and strengthening how different mechanics connect.
As development progresses, additional areas of the world will become accessible, but our priority is to ensure the core experience is as strong, responsive and rewarding as possible.

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“All features described in the “About This Game” section are present in Early Access.
That said, this is an evolving build. Some areas - particularly combat, balance and UI - require further refinement and iteration.
Throughout Early Access, we’ll be actively developing and improving:
Combat feel and overall difficulty balance
The alignment system and how player choices are reflected
Additional optional quests and activities
UI and HUD clarity and usability
Core gameplay systems, progression and balance
Potential expansion of crafting, production and product systems
Updates will be released regularly as we respond to player feedback and continue development.

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“The price may increase when the game leaves Early Access as new content and features are added. We will keep the community updated via our Steam page and Discord.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“Community feedback is a core part of how Masters of Albion will evolve.
We’ll be actively reviewing both player feedback and player behaviour - how systems are used, where friction appears and what players respond to - and using that to guide development priorities.
This includes shaping features, refining systems and improving how the game communicates with players.
At the same time, development will remain focused on delivering a clear and cohesive vision, ensuring that feedback is applied in a way that strengthens the overall experience.

About This Game

There is no single solution. Only yours.

Masters of Albion is a god game where you don’t just shape the world - you can step into it.

Build your town, guide your people and decide how Albion survives.

Every choice has consequences, and no two paths are the same...

Old Albion is gone - swept aside by the advance of modern technology.

But magic was never truly lost...

Now it returns, creeping back into the world, draining the life from its people and reshaping everything it touches.

You are chosen to wield its power.

Granted the abilities of a god, you must guide, protect and shape Albion as you see fit - building a world strong enough to withstand what’s coming.

An ancient force is rising.
What you create will decide whether Albion survives it.

As a god, you shape every part of your town.

Design and place buildings wherever you choose.

  • Hire, house, and manage your workforce.

  • Customise structures with colours, patterns and use weird designs to make them your own.

  • Combine building types to create unique, multi-purpose spaces using a flexible building system.

And there’s no waiting. No timers. No delays.
If you build it, it works - instantly.

Roam freely across the world of Albion.

See everything from above - or step into the lives of your people and experience it from the ground. Take control of heroes, workers, animals and more as you explore in real time.

Complete quests, uncover hidden treasures, and venture into underground caves where danger waits.

Craft weapons and armour to strengthen your heroes, and prepare them for what lies ahead.

From quiet moments to unexpected encounters - whether you’re exploring, fighting, or yes… kicking chickens - Albion is yours to discover.

Take control with the God Hand - and shape Albion however you choose.

  • Build entire towns.

  • Design weapons, armour, clothing and more.

  • Interact directly with the world and everyone in it.

Lift, move, throw or possess the living to take full control of their actions.
Reward your people - or push them to their limits.

Unleash devastating abilities when needed.
Strike enemies with lightning. Set the world ablaze. Crush threats with whatever is within reach.

From careful guidance to outright destruction, the choice is always yours.

This is what it means to wield real power.

When night falls, Albion is under threat.

Creatures emerge from the dark, descending on your towns and tearing through everything in their path.

With the power of a god, you decide how to defend it.

Build and arm defensive structures to hold the line.
Position heroes where they’re needed most.
Raise walls to slow the advance - or funnel enemies into carefully planned choke points.

Step in directly when the pressure builds.
Strike with lightning. Set fire to advancing hordes.
Grab whatever is at hand - boulders, barrels and more - and turn it against them.

Or take control of your heroes and face the threat head-on.

Every night is a test.
What you’ve built will only survive if you defend it.

Mature Content Description

The developers describe the content like this:

Masters of Albion contains adult language, whereby characters use expletives when in conversation with each other and the player.

The game contains melee and ranged combat, with the player able to take control of characters wielding swords, maces and war hammers to attack bandits and zombies. Sometimes, players will find themselves in mild peril.

Masters of Albion also contains machines of war: ballistas, catapults, trebuchets, and these are used as part of a player's town defences.

The player will also find themselves coming under attack from enemies using bows and crossbows.

Players can design their own weapons and test them out on their workers in the Testing Room, where a human character will be struck with a weapon to test its effectiveness.

The game's narrative involves a scene in which bandits capture and imprison innocent workers, and an image of a beheaded dog..

It also involves a scene where the player is able to hang a man after deciding on his guilt.

NPCs will regularly visit their town's tavern as a place to socialise after a day of working, during which time they are depicted drinking. There is one scene in which one NPC is inebriated.

Players are also able to use crude, adult hand gestures at will in the game.

In general, Masters of Albion contains adult language, graphic violence, alcohol abuse and general mature content.
