CONCRETE is a first person exploration experience with a focus on environmental interactivity, atmospheric tension, and an added touch of psychological horror for good measure. It's a quiet and grim world presented through a unique 1:1 aspect ratio and interface with retro-inspired 3D visuals, moody lighting, thick fog, and a droning soundscape.

Many of the objects you find around the environment are fully physical, allowing you to pick them up, throw them around, stack them, and arrange them however you wish. The game world is also filled with interactive elements such as switches, notes, computer terminals, valves, and more. There are secrets to find, stories to discover, and lots of crates to stack. So get to work.



This demo serves as a taster for what's to come in the full release. It includes four game-modes, each showcasing a separate aspect of gameplay you can expect to find in the final game. Some are more detailed than others, but in general it should give a good idea of the kind of experience CONCRETE is aiming for. It does not include any major narrative elements, these will be integrated into the final game.

This demo, the New-Employee-Training-Simulation (N.E.T.S.), includes the following game types:

EXPLORATION

New employees are expected to complete an advanced city exploration simulation. To mark this training as complete on your records, find the seven hidden concrete statues. They are scattered all over the city, some in easy to find locations, others in harder ones. You may be required to backtrack to explore an area you previously did not have access to. Notes and hints are hidden everywhere.

CLEANSER

New employees are expected to complete a basic environment cleansing exam. To mark this training as complete on your records, reach a cleanser level of 100% as indicated at the bottom of your interface. Discard any and all objects you find into the provided chute, and use the A.D. standard issue shovels to scoop up piles of waste from the floor.

VERTIGO

New employees are expected to complete a basic physical fitness exam. To mark this training as complete on your records, reach the top of the obstacle course. You may do this in practice mode which allows checkpoints, or in regular mode where you will be timed and any mistake will reset you to the beginning.

TARGETED

New employees are expected to complete a basic spatial reasoning and physics exam in the form of a target range. To mark this training as complete on your records, obtain a score of 12 as indicated at the bottom of your interface. To score points, pick up and throw the provided trash into the highlighted bin.

Each of these modes are simple, but should provide a decent idea of what the general moment-to-moment gameplay experience of the full game will be, minus all the story and cohesion that sticks the full game together. You can expect the full game to incorporate all of these currently separate mechanics and gameplay loops together into one cohesive immersive experience.
