A 1917 co-op war cabinet for 1–4 players. Each minister is sealed in their own bunker office, and the only way to talk is the desk telephone, wrong numbers and all. Run the war together, ring the bell, and let the guards march you to the locked meeting.

About This Game

It is 1917. The war will not wait, and the only way to run it is together.

KRISENSTAB is a cooperative war-cabinet simulator for one to four players. Each

of you is a government minister, sealed alone in your own bunker office with a

map, a desk, and a telephone. Between you, you command an entire war. If you

can coordinate through the worst communications ever put in a video game.

Run the war from a bunker desk

Everything is first-person and physical. Sit at your desk, lift the handset,

move the pieces on your situation map, read the teleprinter's dispatches, thumb

through your printed field manual. No abstract menus you pick things up and

operate them with your hands.

The only line out is the telephone

There is no chat box, no team channel

you lift the desk telephone, read their extension off the directory card, and

dial, two people per line, numbers that change every match, no party lines.

Voice is fully 3D: the earpiece is a real speaker in the room, loudest with the

handset at your ear. Miscommunication isn't

  • Solo: you are Prime Minister and hold all six.

  • Two to four: War, Intelligence, Supply and Works divide the work, and none of you can see the whole war alone. With no Minister of Intelligence at the table, the War map shows only what your own troops can see this hour.

The cabinet meeting is not a menu

When you ring the bell to convene, nothing to each

office, march you out, drive you behind blacked-out windows to a sealed meeting

room, and lock the cabinet in together until the business is done and every

minister has rung off then drive you back the same way. The war clock stops

the moment the guards knock.

Host a Steam lobby or join a friend's by lobby number, LAN address, or the Steam

overlay. The cabinet's photograph is taken as you walk in, and that print is

your loading screen.
