What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“After 2 years of development, Distant Garden is finally ready to begin the unveiling process. We have a fun, playable game already in which you can explore, defeat enemies, find treasures, and build with your friends online. As we continue the development, we will be in close contact with the community to make sure the features and improvements we deliver create an unforgettable experience that the community wants.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“Until approximately the start of 2025.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“The early access game in its current state is a mostly fully-featured sandbox with infinite procedural terrain, online multiplayer, a breathtaking original score, animals, savable worlds, and survival elements. Features planned but not yet implemented include accessing other planets via a build-able space-ship, an overhauled combat system with both melee weapons and projectiles, and in-game proximity voice chat to talk with friends. We view this game as a platform with infinite possibility, and the sky (or beyond the sky) is the limit. Stay tuned for updates coming soon!”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“Players can build and explore together in multiplayer with beautiful procedural terrain, a day/night cycle, and gorgeous colorful RGB lighting.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“We plan to remain free for the time being, and gradually increase the price as we increase the number of features in the game. Free users will not have to buy the game again if or when this does happen.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“As the lead developer, my email is jack@netbug.us and I will happily accept any feature requests, complaints, or bug reports! We intend on working closely with the community to craft a game that is loved by all, so we are committed to listening and responding to the wishes of the community, and taking the game in a direction that the community will enjoy!”
