What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“Neon Hell Survivor compresses the horde survivor experience into 5-7 minute runs instead of the genre-standard 20 to 30, and onto three horizontal lanes instead of an open arena. More pressure, less time to think. Every artefact pick, every level-up, every second of downtime carries far more weight than it would in a longer run. There's no room for a dead build or a filler minute.
Getting that feel right, pacing, artefact synergies, how far a build can be pushed before it breaks - takes thousands of runs we could never play ourselves. Early Access lets us ship a game we're already proud of, then tune the core and shape the remaining content around what players actually reach for.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“6 to 12 months.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“The full version doubles the roster to 8 playable characters, each with their own weapon and playstyle. We're expanding from the current content into 4 full realms - Orcs, Undead, Beasts and Demons, with 5 levels each, plus minibosses and realm bosses. Artefacts grow from 40 to 70+, hero upgrades from 12 to 30+. Alongside that: balance passes, performance work and quality-of-life features driven by community feedback.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“Fully playable and stable. The complete core loop is in: 4 playable characters with unique weapons, 40 artefacts, 12 hero upgrades, and the meta-progression that carries between runs. Expect roughly 2-3 hours to see the current content, considerably more to master it. This isn't a prototype anymore, it's a polished slice of the finished game, with content still being added on top.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“To be decided yet.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“Our Discord is where we're most active - that's where builds go up early, where we post what we're working on and why, and where the fastest bug reports reach us. We're on the Steam forums too.
The short runs live and dies on numbers and feel, and that's exactly where players see things we don't: an artefact nobody ever takes, a hero that falls off after realm two, a boss that turns a good run into a coin flip. Tell us and we'll dig into it. If you're playing during Early Access, you're part of shaping what this game becomes. We ship regular updates throughout, and when something's off, it gets fixed, not filed away.”

About This Game

🔥 The Power Fantasy You Deserve in Short and Intense Runs

Three lanes and a split second to pick where you stand. Every switch is a trade: dodge the charge or smash the spellbook. Stack artefacts into combos, and watch entire waves go down in a chain.

⚡ Short Runs, Full Attention

Neon Hell Survivor compresses the genre into highly intense 4 to 7 minutes runs. You don’t invest time - you invest attention. Blink, and you’re dead. Which lane do you stand on right now? When a build falls apart, you've lost a few minutes, and you're straight back into the next run.

🧠 Stronger Every Run

Between runs, you spend your resources on permanent upgrades, hire sidekicks, buy a second life, stretch your attack range, or raise your odds of legendary encounters. Inside a run, dozens of artefacts combine into builds that play differently every time.

🎮 Smash. Slam. Repeat.

Potions, bombs and spellbooks ride the lanes with the horde. Smash them from your lane or lose them. Chain kills into combos. Every tier gets louder and hits harder.
