Why Early Access?

“We want to realize our vision for Animalkind and we believe listening to our community is a critical part of the the journey. Feedback from our community will help us identify and address bugs, balance content, and understand the player experience as we update the game. Early Access provides an opportunity to iterate on the game, add new content and features, and ensure Animalkind fulfills the hopes and aspirations of our community. ”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“The duration of Early Access depends on the feedback we receive from the community. We want the game to be great and fulfill our vision when it leaves Early Access. ”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“We intend to add more content (such as quests, regions, and lore), more creative options (such as decorations), and more characters. We also intend to refine gameplay mechanics, user interfaces, game balance, and tutorials. Beyond that we expect to address bugs, improve support for controllers and Steam Deck, and make the game available in more languages.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The Early Access version of the game includes multiple regions, each with its own set of quest content, characters, and natural resources. Across regions there is a large cast of NPCs to meet and befriend. Player activities include exploration, farming, fishing, building, decoration, and more! Players can also play the game solo or with up to four players cooperatively.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“We expect to increase the price after Early Access. ”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“Our Discord server is the main and most direct way we interact with our community. We monitor social media for reactions, impressions, and other feedback. We occasionally use surveys to collect more structured information and extensive feedback from our community, which we distribute through in-game links as well as the Discord server.”

The demo for Animalkind was updated for Steam Next Fest! Here are some highlights:

  • Online co-op: our game worlds support online co-op for up to 4 people, create towns together!

  • A redesigned home island: an entirely new island to explore with its own secrets and new features! 

  • Zoomies: sometimes our animals need to get out and explore! Our friendly critters can’t help but race around the island at striking speed while automatically scooping up all items from the ground!

  • New decorations: more customizable options to decorate the island and town, making it really feel like your own!

About This Game

Build your ideal village in the relaxing, cozy open world of Animalkind. Explore the wilderness and meet new characters who might join your town. Use the power of an ancient mech to craft and build. Invite friends to join you and build together!

Play as an Animal

Play as an adorable (or mischievous) animal! Choose from exciting options like a cuddly corgi, a typical-orange-cat-energy tabby, and a North American trash panda (a.k.a common raccoon) - each with unique and aww-some animations.

Play as a Mech

Discover an ancient mech and use your tiny lil’ paws to control it! Make use of its industrial-grade opposable thumbs and an upgradeable chassis to build, gather resources and traverse the expansive world of Animalkind.

Build a Village

Establish a quaint and bustling town! Gather a community of friendly animals by building houses, laying out paths, and transforming the terrain.

Explore the Wilderness

Explore the wilderness, a vast and ever-evolving set of destinations. Travel to dynamic wilderness areas with unique biomes, recruitable characters, valuable resources and a few surprises.
