Varför Early Access?

“We want Wool at the Gates to be a rich and varied experience. Due to the nature of the class and faction based synergy systems, this will require a lot of content and balancing. Getting the game in the hands of the players early will help us make the best game we can for full release.”

Ungefär hur länge kommer det här spelet att vara i Early Access?

“We estimate the Early Access period to take anywhere from 6 months to a year, depending on how quickly we can develop future content for release and address player feedback throughout the period.”

“We plan for the full version to have additional content, such as more maps, challenges, and heroes. In addition to this, we aim to include quality of life and balance improvements made by addressing player feedback.”

“The Early Access version of Wool at the Gates is planned to include 9 unique class types and 3 factions (Humans, Orcs, and Elves) with their own heroes, towers, units, and perks. We plan to have a variety of finished and fully playable levels with unique enemies and challenges. Early Access will be representative of the final project, just with less content and without the quality of life and balancing patches we plan to make before the final release.”

“Yes, we expect to occasionally raise the price of Wool at the Gates in accordance with additional content it receives throughout Early Access.”

“Wool of the Gates will have an official Discord server that we plan to make available closer to Early Access Launch where players can talk to us about future development and give feedback on existing content. Players can also reach out to us on the Steam forums.”

Wool at the Gates is a strategy game where you build up your city over a series of increasingly difficult rounds to defend it from waves of invading sheep. Humans, Orcs, and Elves fight together to stop the sheep from overrunning the city. Carefully balance your economy and defenses to survive each round. Unpack layers of strategy to optimize building types and locations while stacking class types to create powerful synergies. Replay levels with unique combinations of faction and class types to complete new challenges and gain rewards.

Gameplay

  • Base building: Build and upgrade structures like towers, walls, and resource-generating buildings to grow your economy and defend against hordes of sheep

  • Round-based levels: Take your time building each round before the next wave begins, progressing through a series of increasingly difficult rounds per level 

  • Auto-battler inspired synergies: Choose towers, troops, and hero abilities of the same class to uniquely power up your hero and all characters of that class

  • Factions unite: Mix and match Humans, Orcs, and Elves when building your city to gain unique perks from each faction

  • Hero or God: Fight alongside troops in your hero form or shapeshift into a flying eyeball to quickly traverse the landscape. Choose new hero abilities as you progress through a level

  • Command troops: Set up your troops before the battle begins and command them during the fight

  • Each map introduces new enemy types and challenges that can be completed to gain rewards and unlocks

  • Multiple heroes and abilities to choose from

  • 3 factions + 9 class types, each with unique perks and synergy power-ups

  • Variety of tower and troop types, each belonging to a unique combination of faction and classes
