Varför Early Access?

“Gum Flesh is a roguelike, which means there is a lot of random elements. As a solo dev, there are no doubt issues that I'm blind to. Early feedback to the systems already in place, will help me refine them and make Gum Flesh the best it can be.”

Ungefär hur länge kommer det här spelet att vara i Early Access?

“I don't like the phrase "it'll be done when it's done". It feels too much like "I'll get to it when I get to it". That being said, there is no solid time frame. My goal is about 1 year of early access. But between EA release and then, I can assure you that, baring any unforeseen circumstances, updates and new content will flow regularly and freely.”

Hur är det tänkt att den fullständiga versionen ska skilja sig från versionen i Early Access?

“Variety baby. There's already a lot here. But expect more:
  • items
  • upgrades
  • enemies
  • player classes
  • new areas

You know. The usual.

Right now the areas the player inhabits are quite sparse. There's plans to flesh that out, adding more secrets and special events that the player can discover.

As a solo dev, I'm not tied to any publisher or outside funding, so if I get the itch to add some random off the wall feature, I will. And I do. So expect the unexpected.”

“As of this date, 5/2/2024, there's:
5 playable classes
37 enemies
a lot of upgrades
a lot of items
....
There's a lot of stuff.”

“Gum Flesh will likely have a small price increase upon leaving Early Access. But nothing too crazy.”

Hur planerar ni att involvera gemenskapen i er utvecklingsprocess?

“Yooo. There's a discord where I'll be taking bug reports, feedback and suggestions. If discords not your thing, I'll be actively reading posts in the Steam community hub.”

Gum Flesh is a turn based roguelike that takes place on the back of a celestial monster. Your ship has crashed and in need of repair. Explore a sticky hostile planet filled with dangers in every fold of flesh. Use your wits and fragile supplies to take on strange fauna and weird plants as you search for missing parts of your ship, on a planet where you are definitely not welcome. There's no one coming. It's up to you to leave this place.

Plants shouldn't shoot fireballs right?

The air is different here. Your body starts to change.

Mutate your hands into regenerative stone that cause massive damage while flinging bits of rock in all directions. Sprout a foliage-like hide to gain an advantage while fighting in tall grass. Soak up any electrical current and discharge a massive shock attack. Grow another finger so you can reload your weapons faster.

As your ship went down, cargo scattered throughout the clouds.

Explore the surface and recover gadgets and weapons. Some familiar, some alien. From your everyday shotgun and rifle, to a giant tentacle and fireballs.
