Why Early Access?

“Early access will allow the game to be polished to a high standard before its official release! This includes looking at balancing issues in regards to level design, gameplay, fixing bugs, or even adding highly requested features.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“Final release is expected to happen well within 2024.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“The goal for release is to introduce more levels and worlds to the game, as well as introducing other characters and a global leaderboards system. We would really like to make the game as polished and bug-free as possible.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The game is functional and playable, currently with over 50 levels, four distinct worlds, and all core gameplay elements implemented. At the moment, we are reworking and expanding the tutorial to better introduce players to the mechanics! Sound effects and music are not yet fully implemented.

We have a playable demo available on our Discord, and will be posting one on Steam as it becomes available.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“We are planning a small price increase after Early Access.”

About This Game

Become a catboy and zoom through the many handcrafted worlds in this First-Person Platforming Speedrunner! Master your control over the Source-inspired movement system, battle for top place against other rivals you'll stumble upon, and leave your best times for others to challenge.

catboyZOOM contains many Source engine movement mechanics such as air-strafing, bunnyhopping, and surfing from Counter Strike. The game focuses on building on top of these mechanics and eliciting the joy of extreme speed and execution, while retaining the beautiful flow and design of Source movement!



A bit about us~

catboyZOOM is a near completely solo development project by myself Ethan, and additional help from my partner Brae.

We're both avid enthusiasts of FPS platformers, especially Source-movement, and have been in movement game communities for over a decade! Most of our time had been spent in the Team Fortress 2 jump community (where we've published over 25 custom maps) and as core developers for the community project Momentum Mod.
