About This Game

Welcome to "Vargöld". 

Vargöld is a hack'n' slash roguelite in Norse aesthetics, where you also need to feed your pet with souls of fallen enemies.

  • Sweet spot combat - strike your axe in the right rhythm to chain powerful combos. 

  • Raise your companion - feed your trustworthy wolf to gain its favour and uncover its secrets. Bring him enough hugr seeds, or suffer the consequences!

  • Blessings and upgrades - collect Hugr Seeds from fallen enemies to use your skills, or meditate to store them as currency to buy permanent power-ups

  • Bite-sized runs — Sessions are short and sweet. I built this game for busy people like myself.

  • Norse atmosphere — windy archipelagos, shrines, runes and changing weather
