Proč předběžný přístup?

„We wish to launch our game in Steam Early Access because we believe that player feedback and engagement are crucial for shaping and refining this project. Although we have over five years of experience in game development with small and medium-sized teams, leading a project solo presents entirely new challenges. Early Access will allow not only for the elimination of unforeseen bugs and fine-tuning of the game but, more importantly, will enable us to adjust critical gameplay aspects such as balance, upgrades, and progression based on direct feedback from players.

Our intention is for players to have a real impact on the direction of the game's development. Their experiences and insights will help create a product that fully meets the community's expectations. We believe that Early Access is the best choice for this project as it will facilitate continuous interaction with players and serve as a platform for co-creating the game. The conclusion of the Early Access phase will not signify the end of support for the game—we plan to continue releasing new content and balance updates even after its official release.“

We'll also focus on enhancing the overall experience with more VFX, sounds, and animations. Your feedback will help shape these improvements.“

Informace o hře

Wandering Monolith is a Roguelike, Tower Defense game with Deckbuilding elements.

Each playthrough is divided into these stages:

  • Summon your towers - Strategically place your towers on the battlefield.

  • Expand board - Watch as the board grows and changes with every decision you make.

  • Defend your core - Protect your core at all costs from invading enemies.

  • Pick your upgrade - Choose wisely from a selection of upgrades to enhance your towers.

  • Repeat! - Enjoy endless gameplay with new challenges each time.

Towers

Choose towers that will give you an advantage over your enemies. With 6 attack types and corresponding towers, build your defenses to exploit enemy weaknesses. Plan out the placement of your towers, as many upgrades reward strategic positioning. Utilize height advantage to increase the range of your attacks.

Board

Every game is unique because the board is procedurally generated and adapts to your decisions. As the game progresses, enemy paths will become longer and will split several times. Neutral structures that can affect gameplay and the height of each board segment are also randomized on each board piece. You will never play the same map twice!

Enemies

Fend off waves of enemies defending their world. Each game features a procedurally prepared set of enemies, showcasing their defense types and special abilities. Choose your deck and your towers wisely to exploit their weaknesses. Battle against 3 distinct enemy families with unique combinations of abilities and defenses, including bosses.

Upgrades

After each wave, pick one of the upgrades from your deck. Remember, all other options will be discarded for some time unless you pay to reshuffle them back into your deck. As the game progresses, unlock more intriguing upgrades that will alter the way you play with a specific tower. Will you opt for additional speed when you build the same tower near each other, or a massive bonus if you have only one of this type of tower in the game? These and more interesting decisions await you as you construct your decks.

Repeat

Every time you finish a game, a new set of enemies and bosses will be selected for the next game. Prepare multiple decks and update them on the fly to face these challenges! Will you prevail for 30 days, or will the defenders force you to escape to another world?
