Miksi Early Access?

We want you to have the best gaming experience possible for Dust & Courage. We can show you what we're working on and listen to your opinion during Early Access. We genuinely care about our players, and we want to hear their opinions and help them play the way they want to.

Miten kauan peli tulee arviolta olemaan Early Access -vaiheessa?

We can't wait to finish the full release of the game and tell you the whole story. We currently plan to stay in Early Access for 6 months to a year. However, we promise not to keep you waiting longer than necessary.

Millä tavoin lopullinen versio tulee eroamaan Early Access -versiosta?

We share the beginning of the story in the game's Early Access version. In this edition, you can experience all of the game's gameplay aspects and immerse yourself in its environment. In the final version of the game, we plan to include new weaponry and gameplay elements, as well as refine the game's plot, so that we can express it more effectively. We want to push level design and visuals to the next level in the final version.

Mikä on Early Access -version tila tällä hetkellä?

We have completed the scenario and developed the first two levels, representing a significant milestone in the game's development. The core mechanics and gameplay elements have been implemented and polished to provide players with an engaging experience.

Currently, our focus is on refining the visual assets for the final levels. This includes designing environments, creating character models, and fine-tuning special effects/sounds to enhance atmosphere.

Overall, while there is still work to be done, we are confident in the progress we've made and are excited to continue polishing the game to deliver an exceptional Early Access experience for our players.

The price will increase once the full version is released. We like to express our gratitude to the players who have been there with us from the beginning. Many thanks!

We want to keep constant contact with our players throughout the whole process. We plan to provide our players with regular devblogs, answer their questions with Q&As, and get their feedback and listen to them. We prioritize reading and responding to every message sent to our Discord server, as well as taking note of your wishes.

Dust & Courage: Jake Bolton’s Journey is an isometric single-player RPG set in a historical fantasy rendition of Wild West America. This adventure is as much yours as it is Jake Bolton's! Shape the game with your dialogue choices, determining who becomes your enemy and your friend. Customize your character and become the cowboy you want to be in this sandbox experience.

From the moment you hit the dusty trails, the control is in your hands. You'll meet many different characters and dive into numerous stories. Which ones you choose to follow is up to you. Whether you choose to resolve conflicts through diplomacy or brute force, every decision will have consequences that ripple throughout the world! You will forge alliances, uncover secrets, and shape the course of your adventure.

The gameplay offers a mix of strategic combat, exploration, and puzzle-solving. Engage in diplomatic negotiations or intense battles, using various weapons and skills. The world is filled with hidden treasures and secrets.

  • Dynamic events, like random encounters and weather changes, add unpredictability.

  • Real-time combat features a range of weapons from melee to firearms. Tackle challenges diplomatically or aggressively—solve problems with words or bullets.

  • Enemies have weaknesses and resistances, so choose your weapons strategically.

  • Use items and the environment to outsmart opponents.

  • Progress by completing quests and earning experience points to level up and gain new abilities and skills.

As you progress, you can level up Jake Bolton's skills and abilities, including proficiency with various weapons, persuasion, and survival skills. Abilities range from combat techniques to social skills like charisma and intimidation.

Your dialogue choices and actions shape Jake's alignment and personality traits. You can become a righteous hero, a cunning outlaw, or anything in between, affecting NPC interactions and unlocking specific story paths and quests. Interactions with NPCs and factions influence Jake's relationships and reputation. Positive relationships can lead to allies, quest assistance, and exclusive items, while negative actions may result in enemies and closed-off opportunities.
