About This Game

The Demons… is a nonlinear lovecraftian horror narrative adventure about human, monsters, monstrous humans and humane monsters — all entangled in a mysterious little town of American Midwest. 

Ever heard of a hero with a voice in their head? Well this time, you get to be the voice, and you’ll have the heads of a whole crew of heroes at your disposal!

You play as Dark Wisp, a disembodied entity unbound by the constraints of time and space. Unfortunately, you are also stripped of any means of interacting with the physical world except one: by possessing some special people and whispering into their ears.

Brought to existence by unknown force, you find yourself in the middle of a hellish outbreak, threatening to turn Red Hives — a poor, obscure, and dying Midwestern town — into a poor, obscure and dying Midwestern town, now with demons.

A crew of brave yet outrageously incompetent demon fighters is attempting to save the day, and (what are the odds?) they're the ones who can actually hear you! Now, before you speak to them, there’s only one thing left to figure out: whose side are you on?

FEATURES

• Pick your hosts. You can have only one human puppet at a time, the others will be left to their devices. Choose whom and when to possess to avoid unnecessary casualties.

• Talk to them. Assist them. Mock them. Bully them. They may not always listen, but they will always hear you.

• Get to know them. It may seem counterintuitive, but your hosts are more than just walking meatbags. They are bright and deep personalities, and each will require a unique approach.

• Bend their will. Your hosts disobey and all attempts to reason with them fail? Sounds like it’s time to play a mini-game and brute-force them into doing what you want.

• Explore timelines. You’re the master of time. Make choices, learn from your mistakes, then go back in time and try again with your newly gained knowledge.

• Collect clues. Red Hives is riddled with mysteries begging to be unraveled. Even before the demons, there was something deeply wrong with this town…

• No combat. Who needs it, anyway? Truly intelligent beings resolve their differences through dialogue. Demons included. Mostly.

• Be your worst self. Come on, kick that old lady. Don’t be afraid. We’ll rewind time, she won’t even remember. Come on. You know you want it. It’s okay. Just do it.
