Why Early Access?

“Fightin' Words is an auto-battler, a genre that's notoriously difficult to balance without a lot of playtesting. While we think we have a great starting balance, we'd like to get the game in the hands of more players to discover comps, strategies and really put our balance to the test.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“Until a good compromise between fun and balance is achieved. We're estimating roughly 6 months of play testing and iteration before we release the 1.0 of Fightin' Words.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“In addition to iterating on balance, we hope to add the following features from our roadmap before launch, but the core gameplay is already in the game.

• Daily quests and achievements outside of leaderboard play
  
• Profile pages with your recent games
  
• Your highest scores and leaderboard rankings
  
• Unlockable word compendium: can you spell every word? Gotta spell em all.

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The game is ready to be played and balanced! Hop in and start playing words, collecting upgrades and battling other players. Complete 5 rounds and get placed on the leaderboards. Compete to get the highest scores. Be sure to leave feedback in the Steam Discussion forums.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“After early access, the price will increase to match its Release-Ready state. Grab it now at a discount!”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“We're looking for feedback on the upgrade system and balance. What comps and upgrades are too powerful or too weak? Join us in Discord and share your feedback to get your name in the Credits.”
