What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“As a hobby game developer, I am delighted to offer my game in Early Access. This decision is based on several important reasons that I would like to share with my community.

Firstly, Early Access allows me to share my vision for the game with others while it is still in development. As a solo developer, creating a game can often be a solitary journey. However, Early Access provides me with the opportunity to engage with a dedicated group of players, hear their thoughts and ideas, and incorporate them into the game's ongoing development. This direct exchange is incredibly valuable and helps ensure that the game reflects not only my vision but also the desires and needs of the players.

Secondly, Early Access enables iterative development of my game. Rather than working in secrecy for months and then presenting the finished product, I can update and improve my game at regular intervals. Player feedback helps me prioritize, fix bugs, and implement new features. This allows the game to grow and evolve organically as I continuously strive to improve it.

Furthermore, Early Access gives players the opportunity to be part of the development process and contribute to shaping the game. This creates a special sense of community and strengthens the bond between players and the game itself. Through Early Access, the game becomes more than just a product to consume; it becomes a collaborative project that we shape and improve together.

In conclusion, Early Access is not just a marketing opportunity for me; it is an opportunity to build a vibrant and active community that enthusiastically participates in the game's development. I am grateful for the support and feedback of my players and look forward to working together with them to make my game a great experience for all.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“The game is expected to stay in Early Access for approximately one year after its launch. This timeline may be adjusted depending on player feedback and how the game is received by the community. The focus will be on building a solid foundation that players can enjoy, with further development guided by their responses during this period.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“The full version is planned to feature improved graphics and a variety of idle mechanics aimed at enhancing the gaming experience. While these enhancements are part of the development vision, the exact details and timing will depend on player feedback and the overall progression of the game. The focus remains on delivering a solid experience in the current Early Access phase.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“In the current version, players can produce cookies, gather ingredients, and then either sell or buy those ingredients.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“The price will increase with every update as new content and features are released.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“Ideas or suggestions for potential adjustments to the game's content can be shared via email or through our Discord. These suggestions will be considered for future updates and may be incorporated into the game.”

About This Game

Cookie puts you in charge of a small bakery that grows into something much bigger. On your own plot of land you build up a sugar pond, a wheat farm, a henhouse, a dairy, a cocoa plantation and a cattle barn, each one producing a different raw ingredient around the clock. Everything you gather feeds your oven, where you turn ingredients into the cookies that pay for the rest of your empire.

None of this runs by itself. Every building needs citizens to work it, and every citizen expects a wage. Hire too many for the cookies you have coming in and you slide into an overdraft instead of grinding to a halt, cookies go negative, interest builds, and you have a limited window to turn things around before your workforce simply stops showing up. It is a small, constant balancing act underneath the idle loop, not just a number that goes up.

Nothing you produce disappears into a private stash either. Every player trades on the same market, and prices move with every purchase and sale, yours and everyone else's. Buy heavily into flour and you push its price up for the next person. Dump your chocolate stock and you crash it for yourself as much as for them.

Sell too early and you leave money on the table. Sell too late and the price already turned against you. Stock up on an ingredient before a shortage hits, or flood the market the moment it recovers. Timing decides who profits and who ends up holding overpriced flour.

Progress carries over through a passive skill tree, built the way Path of Exile players will recognize instantly. Every node you unlock has to connect back to the center through nodes you already own, so the tree isn't a checklist, it's a route you commit to. Six branches shadow the six raw resources and boost their yield and quality, while separate branches cover baking efficiency, market fees, storage capacity and that overdraft system from earlier, letting you soften its bite or lean into it on purpose. Scattered through the tree are keystone nodes, small numbers of powerful passives that come with a real tradeoff attached rather than a flat bonus. Committed to a build that isn't working out? A respec option lets you tear it down and start over without losing your farm.

A shared leaderboard ranks every player by total net worth, cookies, stockpiled resources, buildings and skill investment combined, so the comparison never really stops.

Cookie is still in active development. New buildings, new skill tree branches, a rebuilt prestige system and recurring economy seasons are all on the way, and the market keeps evolving as more players join it.
