About the Game:

E.O.T.B is a first person psychological horror game and you guessed it, its theme is the Backrooms. Heavily Inspired by the eeriness of liminal spaces, i decided to make a rather cinematic yet creepier version of the Backrooms world.

You play as Oliver, a mechanic at a secret underground laboratory. There, a non government organization tries multiple tests to achieve creating a time machine, however while tweaking one of the machines it errors, creating a dimension paradox, specifically a portal to a non-linear dimension, the Backrooms. A place where time and space unfold in unforeseen ways. Will you find a way back to your reality? Or will you become part of this twisted horror dimension?

Quick Dev Note

Keep in mind that this game was single handedly crafted from scratch by 1 person! Even after the remastered version, there might be some subtle hitches. But nothing game breaking!

TECHNOLOGICAL FEATURES

I've created this game mostly focusing on atmosphere and breath taking visuals using Unreal Engine 5.6, thus the following systems/technologies are used:

-Next Gen 3D Lighting technology, using Unreal Engine's latest lighting system, Lumen, players can experience environment lighting at its finest quality.

-Immersive 3D Sound Technology from Microsoft. Project Acoustics, offering spatialized and binaural audio integration, making sound effects, ambience and music interact with the 3D environment. Long story short, physically based sound rendering.

And on top of the 3D physically based audio rendering EOTB features, the game uses Steam Audio spatialization.

Steam Audio uses three-dimensional precision game audio to immerse players in a more realistic, more intense cinematic experience. Sounds with lifelike details are precisely rendered all around the player, so they feel like they are deeper inside the game.

The remastered version of the game is in development, players that have already bought the game will receive the remastered version for free.
